Sometimes people have a way of becoming famous on this website and the majority opinion gets ignored when the subject being discussed does not favor them. Aftermarket rod bolts is not stock anymore so quit whining about it. So until rod bolts are not considered part of the bottom end, they should remain stock.
A cage should definitely be required also. I thought everyone on the cam only list had a cage but maybe just those of us who actually follow the rules. That's too bad. Sorry but at respectable drag strips across the country you can't run these times unless you are legal. So I guess those of us who run at legitimate drag strips are supposed to drive down to hickville every time we want to make a pass instead of getting a cage and being able to run at our local drag strip? I don't think so. Save yourself the embarrasment and get a cage. You're not going to impress anyone running quick times in a tin can without a cage. Matter of fact, where I run you get one 9 second pass and then you have to get licensed. I'm willing to bet the top 10 power adder's on the stock bottom will all be in the 9's.
So I say weight limit, no. Aftermarket rod bolts, no. Cage, yes! This isn't the stock internals list.

LOL I agree that throwing that kind of power at the stock rod bolts is very risky but they are part of the bottom end aren't they? So if this is supposed to be a STOCK bottom end list, why should we allow aftermarket rod bolts? This isn't MY list per say but I am willing to get it started and updated since no one else has taken the initiative. If a lot of members are going to fuss about this then maybe we should allow it? Should we start another thread and take a poll? Let it run for a week and then make a decision?
As for the cage, I'm not budging on that one. Be happy I'm not demanding the car be licensed too. J/J
If a lot of people (I doubt it) are going to fuss about that one too then they can go start their own list.

rt 66 is still 45 minutes away, and i prefer not to go there becuase of the crowded staging lanes.
if you are being so literal about the STOCK bottom end (not wanting to allow aftermarket rod bolts) then that's what you should stick to. regardless if it's NHRA legal, or not. if it's got a STOCK bottom end ls1 in it, then it should be able to qualify. i think we all want to keep it F-bodys and vettes though.

Joe/Amber, I need more details. Type and size of Heads? Cam name or size? Raceweight? Etc. I can put you at the top of the NA list once I get those details.
imslow, as I said I can start a poll asking if rod bolts should be allowed but unless I hear a ton of bickering about the cage I'm going to say it is required for now. If need be we can start a poll for that too but I honestly think most are going to agree with me on that issue. I've been known to be wrong every once in a while though.

Ill throw my slow POS into the mix. Since Joe and Amber stole my thunder by beating my Heads/Cam HP record [508RWHP] I cant lay claim to anything. LOL
But with my CARTEK 4X Heads/Cam [LS6 Heads] a 3325-race weight, stock T56 and stock bottom end I ran 10.51 @ 130.78

Here is a video of "Catapolt"s car. He is one of my techs at HPE. We did this a couple years ago. Heres some of the details. 98 T/A, Heads, cam, th350, 250 shot, 3:73 gears, 28x10.5 tire, BMR suspension set up by myself. The engine actually lasted quite awhile with that much n20. Someone may have been quicker than us by now.

I tried to change the thread title to:
Quickest "STOCK BOTTOM END" List
but it didn't work.
Maybe one of the moderators can correct it and also make this thread a sticky? Seems like there is quite a bit of interest already and the thread is only a couple days old.
