I did some research and it seams you need 23* heads to be considerred an LTX even if they are modified SBC heads (according to the LTX shootout rules). BUT I am strongly considerring splitting the lists. I want to keep true to the sight being LS1tech and all and make one list just for LSXs and another for anything under the sun. How does that sound? I know I can't please everyone.
It doesn't say it's not an LTX motor if the 23* angle is not retained. It adds a weight penalty but still recognizes it as LTX.
I am registered and racing in outlaw in the LTX event so does that make it o.k.????
What makes it an LTX is the block and the reverse cooling system which is the limiting factor for everyone running an LTX type motor. It doesn't matter what heads you have or how big your turbo is, the factory block only takes so much.
I get cranked up about this because it took so much extra work to keep this thing an LTx based motor. I guess I'd like it to be recognized. I do give you credit for taking the time to start this list in the first place and would still be happy if it were split.
Thanks.
