Default 1st time at the track in the ls1 coupe. Diapers required at next visit.

Well guys, I am never going to the dale on a thursday night. No track prep = close calls to the wall several times.

I never got a complete pass. Had to lift several times due to getting way out of control. My best pass is as followed.. Made 3 passes..

1st run, 20 psi in tires, stalled to about 3k (footbrake) car spun the tires and pulled HARD to the right at launch. BARELY missed the orange devider box and let out in 2nd gear, got back in it and bounced of the rev limiter hard..

Don't have the slip in front of me, but I remeber the 60', and 1/8th et/mph.
60ft - 1.78
1/8th - 7.12
18th mph - 99mph (keep in mind I lifted and bounced the rev limiter hard and cruised through the traps)

2nd run, lowered the psi to 11, stalled to about 2k, spun hard, same thing pulled hard to the right at launch and then a nasty left when I hit 2nd gear, THOUGHT I was going to hit the wall, let out of it and just kinda trying to focuse in on what just happened and cruised through the traps.

60ft - 1.81
1/8th - 7.46
1/8mph - 94mph

3rd run, 11psi, stalled to 2500, spun and pulled to the right again, just trying to concentrate on going strait. Let out of it and cruised.. Called it a night.. Did not get a slip on my last run..

I am going to work on the rear suspension and add some weight to the rear of the car. Gonna take her back to the track on a wed or friday when track prep is available.

All in all, I was pretty pleased with a 99mph trap not fully getting into it.

Any advise on launching this car would be appreciated

i ran 99.7 mph and 7.0 in the 1/8 and 129mph and 11.2 in the 1/4 at 2800 ft elevation so i would say the car will go 10s no prob when you get it sorted

I was gonna say that's one powerful 5.0 liter engine, and then I read your sig :p

Ehh, that's some serious trap time. Too bad the track prep sucked. My weak car actually spins at the track I go to, so i'm assuming it's due to track prep.

I'm sure you're somewhere in the low 11's.

What kinda tires are you running? If they were just street radials, chances are they were cupping on that 3rd run @11psi.
