here is the answer...proven on the track with my car from one pass to the next...with it closed it ran a 110mph and with it open it ran 112mph...these were back to back with same 60fts the car is an auto so no error there either...this was on a SI with a completely stock exhaust and a 3.5" cutout mated to a 3inch cutout for max flow...it is definitely worth it cant argue with 20hp difference on a SI car...will be even more on a cam or spray car

Ehh, you have the chokemaster catback exhaust. In that case a cutout should give you more power. Mayhaps the track conditions weren't that favorable.

It wasnt at the track, just street racing.

Thats because he has FULL exhaust, if you have a catback, y-pipe, and longtubes, you exhaust is already free flowing, so a cut-out isnt really going to help

I picked up .2 at the track, and see no real reason to put the cap back on. I am currently running stock manifolds, High flow cats with a Magnaflow muffler. It will be on the dyno in early april I'm going to try it with and without just to see the results.

3 tenths and 2 mph on back to back runs with the flowmaster! i was so suprised! same 60 as well! it was wierd! the low end felt better with some added torque but it just didnt pull up top as much!

It seems the 400rwhp is the key where people actually gain power from a cutout. Our catbacks can be restrictive to a certain point, but with bolt ons it really isn't all that restrictive.

I don't know about that. I didn't try it on my 5.7 camaro but on my 3.8 Camaro with a few boltons and stock exhaust I picked up .2 1-8th

Wow i guess this was in the 1/4 mile. Mine feels the oposite. Less low end and more top end. Did it help you in the 1/8 mile any?

Cut outs only see big gains with built motors. Check out my sig. I have not had my car to the track yet.

With my bolt on only car I have cutouts right after the headers. I lost .2 in the 1/4 and 1 mph. With comparable 60' times on back to back runs. I'm hoping with the cam in the car it'll pick up power, but I'm skeptical
