Hey Erik... this is Sambo from S.A.M. all those years ago Talked to ole Aaron the other day and everything sounds like it going good back in ole Htown.
Did an Ls2 turbocar recently for a customer but dont get on Ls1tech much. So I take it yall use BS3? I havent tuned one with bs3 yet but the XFI XMI seems like a pretty reliable system. We have however run into a "valve float" issue as the car lays over past 5800 rpm... have thought and checked everything, lifting the heads... blowing out the spark. Just recently changed springs to a more agressive setup but have not tested it yet. Is it a possibility at 18+ lbs of boost? Car has gone 6.07@113.9 with a 1.35 60' laying over with a (wayyyy overly safe) 10.0-9.8 afr... 68% duty cycle... 17lbs of boost... 19 degrees of timing. It was leaned to 10.8-11.0 which cleaned up the midrange but lunched the stock case glide hahaha. Power is hard on parts i suppose. But still appreared to lay over even on that pass. The car is NOT pushing water... arp headstuds 6.0 mls gaskets with 10% added over torque.
just getting an opinion.
Oh and Robbles says hi.

18 psi of turbo means your losing at least 40 lbsof seat pressure on the intake, and probably near twice that on the exhaust unless the backpressure is close to 1:1 which I dont see often
Erik were probably going to switch to LSK lobes, run a 106 LSA with 8 degrees advance. Itll pick up the midrange, Im thinking we try to make it dyno like a duramax and put a tow hitch on the car. WHat do you think?

Hey Sam,
Man that sounds strange but I doubt it is the valvetrain at that low an rpm. Some turbos will do that from exhaust reversion but it's usually way higher in rpm if they have too much backpressure and a lot of overlap in the cam. I don't exactly know what to think although ignition would be probably the first place I would look too.
You Georgians take it easy up there and let me know what you find out. I hope you and tiny Robbie are doing well!
