Default New Best letting out, while shaking down TFS 215's/SI7 cam

I went out to US41 on Sunday to do some testing with my new H/C. In July I ran a best of a 10.92@124.

the changes I've made since are as follows:

Old setup:
GTP stage 2 5.3 heads milled .030, stock gasket
F13 on a 114+1
stock rockers
4x9 magnaflows off the collectors
TSP lid
stock MAF

New changes:
TFS 215's 64cc, .040 cometic
SI7 cam 110+0
Lightweight Yella Terras shimmed .050
QTP Y-pipe w/ flowmaster collector into a 4" Borla XR1
Fast Toys 85mm lid
SLP 85mm MAF descreened with the resistor taken out

I know its a lot of changes to make at once, but I just wanted to throw it all on and then tune it all in together.

Anyways I tried some transbrake launches and blew off my brand new hoosier slicks hoping I could hook a 26" tire. I guessed wrong, ran an 11.28 and an 11.27 with 1.7x and 1.8x 60's

went back to the footbrake and logged the o2's. It went 11.00@123(1.59) and 10.96@123(1.54) with the o2's reading .990's

I leaned it out around 4% across the board and hurried back to the staging lanes as they were closing. and came out with this:

1.53
4.48
6.94
99.55mph
9.08
10.89
121mph

I had to let out about 100-150ft before the finish because the guy who went before still had not cleared the track after doing a 1/8th mile pass and was only bout 300ft past the finish. I didnt feel like testing my brakes and got nervous so I lifted.

So i'll head back this weekend to find out what that run might have become and do some more tuning on her. overall I feel pretty good with the change so far and I think it has a lot more in it

Sounds great Steve, what gear out back, and are you on 26's? I might be looking for a new converter.

Wow, that sounds scary they let you run before the previous car had turned off the track?? That seems like a bigtime saftey issue.

Nice job. I cant wait to get my ATI/A3 combo to the track and see how it does over the old one.

thanks Larry

PSJ, 3.73's with a 26x9x15 Hoosier slick. I'm prolly going to go with a bigger gear soon

Caveman, I dont know what the hell this guy was doing. everyone could see that he wasnt in trouble or anything and he had to have been to the scoreboards when they dropped my tree. he just felt like taking his sweet *** time to get off the track.

JRracing, the cars pretty light, I'll have an exact weight on it Friday before I hit the track again

JaSSon, you're going to love the ATI, its the hardest pulling converter I've owned

Steve, what are the rough cam specs? So you only have a ATI 4600, not bigger? How was the shift drop?

thanks Coach

John, the cam is a 238/244, I believe its on XER lobes. As for the Converter, Its what ATI recommended for the f13/3.73 combo I had at the time. I asked about the 5500 and they said I would need a bigger cam/gear or I would go slower with it. I'll have to get back to ya on the shift extension, I only have around 12 timed passes since I installed the trans back in July and havent gotten a chance to pay attention to that yet. the whole US41 drama killed a lot of testing time.
