A car that leaves up on a set of wheelie bars at say 5500+ rpm is going to gain at least a tenth in the first 100' vs. one that is leaving at less than four thousand off of a footbrake. To clarify this there is a really fast Camaro here with a big engine that could run no faster than 9.18 when footbraking and went 8.86 by leaving at 5200 on the tranny brake with almost exactly the same trap speed.

I think it would be cool if we could get a general overview/ correction of the car combo, because I was personally curious too. I've kicked around putting in a 12:1 stroker in the Camaro for this fall or next year as a follow-up to it's current 346ci engine.

Even if it has a lot of stall speed it won't 60' nearly as quick footbraking as it will leaving at 5200 rpm on the tranny brake. As you are well aware it takes energy to get from just above an idle to the stall speed on a footbrake leave. An 8" ATI converter is too small for anything running mid nines. My son has a Chevelle that was stuck in the low nines a few years ago. Replaced the 8" converter with a 9" one and it was worse. Went to a 10" and it was like night and day. The car had plenty of stall speed, picked up 4 tenths and 8 mph over the previous best. 8" = 9.20 @ 147, 10" = 8.80 at 155+. Both times leaving on the footbreak at about 2500, flashed to about 4000 on the hit with the ten. Getting the right converter is a big part of getting a car to E.T. and this generally takes several tries to get the right one.

How high will your Hyd. cammed engine rev? A good solid roller and valvetrain would likely show some improvement. And a 4500-5000 leave should get you some E.T. Try Chance, UCC or Pro Torque for a good high stall converter that will also hold the power you have and improve the E.T.
