Bain, we have done most of the tunning at the track with the wideband and HP Tuners. The best guess through the turbo 400 is somewhere around 400 HP +/- at the wheels. The car weighs in at 3,415 lbs race weight.

I think it is working real good.

Tektrans

You are correct I removed the Hooker Headers, Y-pipe and Hooker catback when I installed the new ARH headers and installed 14 inch turn downs. The car does sound pretty nasty. It is nice to listen to the car idle with the cam after running the stock engine for 5 years.

Here is another good shot when the car just lifts off the ground. Take a look a the slicks these are the stiff sidewalls ET Drags 26X10X15.

Talking

I think that the best thing about this is the pride and joy that he has for his daughter. So often you hear about the negative things that our young people do, I'm glad he is introducing someone into the sport so that it can live on.

Thanks and you noticed that I was only running 26 inch ET Drags not bad!

I am very pleased with how the car performed on May 30, 2008. I went back and reviewed the runs where I knew the car launch good and I shifted the gears correctly and here is what I found. The results of the best five runs are below!

The best sixty foot was 1.457 and the worst was 1.481 (.024) diff

The best 1/8 ET was 6.819 and the worst was 6.855 (.036) diff

The best 1/8 MPH was 99.19 and the worst was 98.68 (.51) diff

The best 1/4 ET was 10.784 and the worst was 10.835 (.051) diff

The best 1/4 MPH was 123.45 and the worst was 122.99 (.46) diff

Not to bad considering all runs were made from 2:16 PM to 3:50 PM a total of 95 minutes from start to finish.

Take a look at this photo my daughter took of the car just as it starts to move! It shows the slicks real good and how they work.

I could set here and go on and on regarding how proud I am of my daughter. She just graduated from High School with an overall GPA of 3.97 even after taking college prep classes. She is a great person and has a level head on her shoulders. After reveiwing the 300 photos she took on May 30, 2008, I am thinking she really needs to take this gift of hers and apply it in the future.

You are correct I really like hearing good things about young people these days and I feel truley blessed to have one in my life and thank God everyday for his gift.

Your welcome! I am very pleased with how the car is working with the 346 pump gas engine. If I can figure out how to load a video I will get it on here for everyone to view!

Your 68 Firebird project is cool!

Everything I have done is mostly add weight! Every stock part was replaced with mild steel parts. When I changed out the TQ arm I was shocked at the difference. The car has been a lot of work!

Thanks to Spohn and my wife, I have all Spohn parts under the car. That is their drag bar! The car launches the same everytime and seems to be loading the rear tires really good! The car has the stock springs and shocks on the back with an air bag in the right side. Depending on track I set it a 27 lbs to 35 lbs. I had the air bag in their when I was running the stock sway bar and never took it out. It seems to launch level even with it at 10 lbs. so I am not sure if it is helping I just never took it out.

So far to date the car has a 1.401 sixty foot on engine! The one thing I wanted to add to that is that was with MT ET Drags 26X10X15 now I am using MT ET Drags 26X10X15 S and have only managed a 1.44 sixty foot. I went to the S tire to see how the car will perform when I use the transbrake with two step and Nitrous.

So far not to pleased with them on engine only!

Well we went up to I-40 Dragway in Crossville, TN. on July 11, 2008 and the car ran almost the same as it did on May 9, 2008 the last time I was at I-40 Dragway.

Here is a comparsion!

On May 9, 2008 in the left lane at 7:09 pm, My car ran 1.501 60 ft 4.460 330 ft 6.973 ET at 99.701.

On July 11, 2008 in the left lane at 7:39 pm, My car ran 1.51 60 ft 4.468 330 ft 6.977 ET at 99.757.

On May 9, 2008 in the left lane at 8:39 pm, My car ran 1.500 60 ft 4.459 330 ft 6.967 ET at 99.887

On July 11, 2008 in the left lane at 8:20 pm, My car ran 1.507 60 ft 4.465 330 ft 6.968 ET at 99.993

I did manage two decent times in the right as well on July 11, 2008!

at 7:00 pm, My car ran 1.488 60 ft 4.448 330 ft 6.958 ET at 99.299
at 8:54 pm, My car ran 1.500 60 ft 4.453 330 ft 6.955 ET at 99.610

It is amazing how the weahter affects a cars performance! On a good note it is running consistent even if it is not running in the 80's.

Thanks guys for all the props!

I have worked really hard on the car and it appears to be paying off! It is fun running in the 10's NA even if the nearest 1/4 mile track is two half hours away! I just have to let off the gas pedal early to drag race close to home!

Hey guys,

I was looking back through my photos and found a couple from the Pinks All Out Event at Bristol in 2007. I thought you all might want to take a look at them. The first one is at the end of my burn out when I race the 70 Chevelle that almost took me out allowing the both of us to make a 2 second appearance in the actual TV show. When you see the part of the show where the blue Chevelle almost flips that is my Formula heading down the track in the right lane pulling hard with the nose up in the air.

The second photo is a good launch photo at the Pinks event!
