Well I only had it to the dyno one time after I put the pump gas engine in and it did not run well because of a ground issue!

I will be installing a new fuel pump and changing injectors from 28.8 lb to 42 lb and once we get the new tune loaded up in it we will take it to the dyno to fine tune it and see what it puts down.

I am very proud of how the car runs and it has been a lot of hard work for sure!

Finally got to the 1/4 mile track again! We headed to Beech Bend Dragway in Bowling Green, KY Saturday October 25, 2008 and had some fun. The track was working very well and the DA was between 1,100 to 1,300 most of the day. Got to weigh the car at 3,423 lbs. with me in it!

I almost equaled my best ET from Jackson SC last November well I guess I did equal the ET it was only .002 off 10.752 in Jackson and 10.754 at Beech Bend. In Jackson I had a 1.417 at Beech Bend I had a 1.449 60 foot.

I did however get a new best MPH to date of 124.14 NA. First time above 124 MPH's

Here is the breakdown, all runs were in the right lane.

1:20 PM 1.460 60 ft, 6.807 1/8 ET @ 99.60 MPH, 10.777 1/4 ET @ 123.81 MPH
2:21 PM 1.459 60 ft, 6.810 1/8 ET @ 99.42 MPH, 10.787 1/4 ET @ 123.61 MPH
3:16 PM 1.454 60 ft, 6.808 1/8 ET @ 99.45 MPH, 10.780 1/4 ET @ 123.97 MPH
4:39 PM 1.449 60 ft, 6.790 1/8 ET @ 99.64 MPH, 10.754 1/4 ET @ 124.14 MPH

Here is the video, I did a extra long burn out even into third to get the tires hot!

Thanks, It does seem to be doing pretty good! I wish now I would have done third gear burn outs on all runs to see if all the 60 foots would have been in the 1.44 range.

Strange thing is I turned the redlight on and on the slip it states a redlight of -.046 but the video shows a redlight of -0.46 not sure about that. I am glad it was just TNT. On my first run I had a .004 green light.

I was very excited to get the new PB MPH for sure!

I meant to say this in my previous post your combo is impressive to say the least. If you don't mind could you send me a PM with a ballpark price on your engine combo! I am looking at moving up from the little ol 346 ci someday! LOL

Love the way the car leaves the line! I think it is always cool to watch birds fly!

yea.. with me in the car and about a 1/4 tank of gas im at 3250... and im not quite done taking weight out... i have not spent any money at all on weight reduction yet... the only thing noticeable are skinnies and no rear seats...

i have no a/c, cruise control, rear speakers (still have radio, but not for long), all the brackets that all that stuff uses, heat shields.............. etc...

if you want i can get you a list of everything i took off and pm it to you.. a friend of mine still has cruise control and all speakers and all the acc. people like in DD cars and he was at 3375 race weight.. let me know if you want a list!

do you like brainard?

lemons12: I thought I would reply to you in my own thread most of the questions you asked are in this thread so take a look at it! My raceweight is 3,416 +/-, I wish I could get my car down to 3,200 lbs.

The main problem is everything I have taken off was lighter then what I replaced it with except for the K-member!

On a side note I saw where Huntsville Dragway is closing. As far as me liking Brainard, it is my last choice of places to go!

Thanks guys for the kind words! I am in the process of changing out the fuel pump finally and will be installing the new fuel injectors and then it is off to the dyno for some fine tunning!

While I am at it I am taking out some more weight! I am hoping for some 10.60's NA after this effort and maybe just maybe a 9 second nitrous timeslip!

Update!

Well so far I have removed another 25 lbs. from the car and getting ready to install the fuel pump, wiring harness and injectors. I added some photos!

The injectors are 42 lb injectors that have been flow matched!

My luck has not been good the last two weeks! The fuel pump assembly has been a pain to get out. I thought I had cut my trap door for nothing. I almost had to dropped the tank again. It took forever to get the ring to release. I would get the one that was superclued down! The plug and play harness was a piece of cake and is a very good piece!

Hopefully I will get everything wrapped up and we will be heading to the dyno on December 5, 2008.

Well I got the pump in and it seems to be working great. I have now changed out the injecters and we are headed to the dyno in the morning! Stay tune for results.

Well, I finally finished the install on the Racetronix fuel pump last Saturday as most of you all know I have been having some trouble getting the ring off the pump.

I installed the new 42 lb flow matched injectors last night and my good friends and I went to the dyno this morning for further tunning after they installed the new tune to scale the injectors.

The Mustang Dyno was programmed with 3,600 lbs. for the weight of the car which included me and my friend that was doing the tunning. I put 21 lbs of air in the M/T ET Drags and made the test run to make sure all was ready and the dyno was recording correctly.

I pushed on the brakes and clincked the line lock got the rollers going then shifted into 2 nd gear ran it up to 3,400 RPM's shifted into 3 rd and brought it up to 3,000 RPM's and stomped on the go pedal!

The results are as follows!

397 HP at 560 lbs.96 HP of Torque, the afr was 12.5, changed the program tried again!

396 HP at 502 lbs. of Torque, the afr was 12.8, changed the program one more time and tried again!

400 HP at 579 lbs. of Torque, the afr was back to 12.5, ready for nitrous!

Put the 15 lb. nitrous bottle in the car at 875 PSI turned it on purged the line got the rollers going move into 3rd gear brought to 3,000 RPM's and stomped on the go pedal and pushed the go button on a 45 HP dry shot at the engine and now my wife and I have a devil car. Most folks would say why even bother with such a small shot? I guess the devil made me do it! LOL

429 HP at 666 lbs. of Torque, the afr came down to 11.9 safe for sure.

Thought I would post the result! Now it is time to go racing!!

Thanks Coach! If all goes well we are headed to Darlington, SC. this Saturday to see what the weight reduction and new tune will do. Looks like it is going to be a perfect day for some racing. Plan on trying a small shot after the new PB NA!

Looking at the torque curve, if we ever take the car back again to a dyno, I am going to wait until 4,000 RPM's before going to the floor with the gas pedal in one smooth motion. I am hoping this will allow a little smoother torque curve! It is not easy when you have a non lockup convertor! The torque started out at 490 at 3,000 went up to the numbers I posted and was back to 490 on all three runs within 450 RPM's of the hit and then on its way down as HP was on its way up. We were trying to make sure the fuel was correct at the footbrake launch of 3,000 RPM's.

Anyway maybe I will have some good numbers to post this weekend! Stay tuned!
