I don't think anything was wrong with their equipment. I made 5 runs with the mph between 105 and 106 everytime. (mostly stock CETA) His car definately looked that fast on the top end. I saw at least 4 runs that were all 113 or 114. I really think it may have an LS6 cam. The guy you bought it from didn't even know the lid was aftermarket, so he prob was the second or third owner. My buddy you talked to with the cammed SS was trapping 114 everytime too. I have a couple of pics with our cars parked together if you want them. Definately let Michelle do a photoshoot of your ride, my car was finalist in picture of the month this month from one of her pics.

Cool, yeah if you can send me a copy of the pictures. I called the guy (Jason) I bought the car from and he said he bought the car new in VA, he said he bought the parts off of a wreck TransAm and thought the are SLP factory options. The parts are SLP lid and SLP cat-back exhaust, I changed exhaust to Magnaflow and added headers with Y-pipe. I gave Michelle a PM about a photoshoot, her pictures are crazy nice. THANKS Dude! You going to the track sunday?

It's all good. The car looks and runs great regardless. I have family in town for the holidays and I'm getting my 3.73's and electric cutout put in next week so I'll wait to run it again after that. I want to make a few passes after each phase of mods to see what difference they make. I've had the car about 2 months and already have about 20 time slips between Sumerduck and MIR!!

hate to do it but the 90* weather put me over the top...

only headers and maybe a lid...

60ft is off for the mph an ET...

weight is heavy...

1/8 to 1/4 mph is to much...i only gain 24mph and i am cam only...

nice times bud but i think the timing equipment might be off...i know our track was off a couple years ago in one lane...the right lane was 4mph higher than the left one...

Here is one of my slips..very similar to yours..I am a stalled auto though, so it might be comparing apples to oranges..we have similar 60 fts & 1/8 mph(I am 1 mph faster)

60' 1.800
330 5.088
1/8 7.850
mph 88.68
1000 10.239
1/4 12.261
mph 111.39

You pick up 3mph on me..??? Was there a major tail wind or something? But I think that only will give you ET not MPH

I'll throw my two cent's in as well.
With my listed mod's I trapped at 115 mph WITH a 75 shot.
I am not saying the op is intentionally trying to BS this forum, but his recorded speed can't be accurate.
No way.

I'd say a full weight M6 F-body would need about 390rwhp to go 114mph in average air.

he said around 3500 something but it was 90 out too...da had to be in the thousands...just think with 0 da he could run 117mph+ with just headers and stock weight...

If plenty of people have traped 112 with bolt ons, and they believe that, why would I have to spray to trap 114. Your numbers are off, not mine.

I thought this thread was going to die, that's why I have not posted on the last page. But if you guys are going to keep it going than **** it. Alot of you keep talking about what you have been with your car. I don't give a ****. I am a know Corvette racer who has proven my self. If you don't want to lesson than don't, but stop calling bs. I ran in both lanes, and ran the mph more than once, stop saying the track was not right. I have told you guys if any of you live in my area, then come see the car be a judge for yourself. If you have an a4 and went 112, than what do you thing a well driven 6speed will go. And don't say a cam because some one has said they heard the car and did not hear a cam. My vette did not pick up the mph that this car did from the 1/8 to the 1/4 put it happen. So when we do it again what will the problem be?

Don't worry about it man, this is just the internet. Truthfully, I didn't think your mph was all that impressive for your mods. I knew a guy with an A4 that ran consistent 119s with bolt ons and tha stock intake manifold. My car went 12.6@112.5 with only a lid, home ported MAF, hollowed cats, and a cat-back. Anyway, the mph is not crazy IMO. As long as you are happy don't worry about trying to convince everyone else. Good luck,

Larry

THANK YOU! I appreciate that, I'm going back to the track tonight but I'm going to driving it myself this time.

112MPH with bolt ons is the high end and 2.5 more MPH is a lot. Especially when he doesn't have everything. ram air kit, ported TB, and a pulley in cold dry air should go 116-117. Does that seem about right to you? And I didn't read everyones post in this thread but if someone said they went 112 in an A4 with similar mods as you, they are either lightweight, lying or maybe they race at MIR as well.

Be that as it may, I think the really unbelievable part is the gain from the 1/8. Your C5Z with its less weight, better aerodynamics, and more power doesn't gain as much. It should far exceed the top end pull of a bolt-on F-body. Yet it doesn't, but that's not odd to you. Mr. known corvette racer, ha.

We don't want to listen? (Atleast I think thats what you meant.) You're the one who doesn't want to listen. 87mph to 114mph in a ful exhaust/lid-only M6 WS6 is not possible. What is causing that is what's in question. There's either more to the car or something with the track.

You think that because someone couldn't hear a cam that it's not there. There are cams design with stock idle being the main goal. It could even be an LS6 cam, which would sound like a stock C5Z yet have a solid 20 rwhp more.

If you really knew anything about these cars you would question it yourself. Seriously. My car has went 88mph in the 1/8, so I can only assume it would go ~112 in the 1/4, but if I took it to Rockingham and it went 114+ I would brag to everyone about the slip and say my car just works better than others, but I would consider the fact that something wasn't legit.

If you can run that number again, then I would believe that it's a fast car, but I would still question the unknown.

Jon
