New best for myself.... Bolt-ons only
So tonight was actually a good night. I headed to US41 with two other guys from my car club here at Purdue. It rained on us a little on the way up, so we were nervous they would be closed, and then we showed up a few minutes before 6 to find the place completely empty, and thought it was closed. We were just the only ones there though to begin with. Eventually some other people showed up. So anyway, we had the place all to ourselves for a while.
My first run I did too short of a burnout again and just stepped on it off the line, went sideways through first, and ran a 13.18@109.66 with a 2.199 60ft. lol. Not the greatest start in the world. I saw a better mph than before though, so I was hoping it would get better if i could hook. My times kept getting better after that until a few runs later when I ran a 12.35@110.5 with a 1.788 60ft.
I hoped before I got there that I could get down to a 12.3, so I was happy. But i knew there was more in it.... So I let it sit for a while and then went out and hot lapped it (how i set my record before the converter too o_O).... I made 4 runs in a row with no turning the car off or anything between it, each one getting faster, with the grand finale against a certain member's dad's awesome cammed C6 Z06... THAT was a fun race . I launched better because he had the stock tires on it still, and held the lead more than half way down the track, when he BLEW by me... That was awesome. I don't mind losing to that thing .
I ran a 12.211@110.83 with a 1.730 60ft. That was my best run of the night, and it was just getting better every time, but I decided to stop anyway... I had made enough runs.... So my best time of the night was 12.211, but the mph on that one wasn't actually as good as a few of the other ones. I was actually running in the 111's through them. My best mph of the night was 111.3. So needless to say, I was happy with how the night turned out .
My best before the converter/tires (on a night with about 1000 lower DA than tonight too) was 12.85@107.6. So.... I'm happy, and love this converter.... lol. Oh, and the DA was 1130 at the time of my best run. And the car is still full weight except for the spare and jack removed.

Yep I am . Basically connections are the best thing. And going to do stuff, kinda like this. Usually we have a lot more people go, but this time was really last minute. Did you see our show out on the memorial mall the other day? Just stop in to one of our meetings some time . If you haven't gotten on it yet, our website is purdue.edu/papa.

yeah, I saw the Papa show out at memorial mall the other day. Although i didn't see any F-body's when I passed by. I need to join next time I see you guys out just to get some connections. I am going to need plenty of help with a few parts I plan on installing over the winter, I'm just starting out in this car game so I'm not real familiar with a lot of things right now. Are you still on the stocker 10 bolt? I want to take mine out sometime, but I'm scared to death that I will break the rear end.

Well, you can come to any meetings of our and join too. They always have the box there for the $10. Or they should.... lol.
And that's cool. I was the exact same way when I got my car about 3 years ago. I know a lot more now, but I am by no means anywhere near an expert in the stuff yet...
Yeah I still have the 10-bolt in there. Do you have an auto or a stick? With an auto you'll be perfectly fine. With a 6-speed you'll probably be ok for a little while, especially if you stay with street tires. We have a guy with a cammed black 6-speed SS in our club that should be trapping up around 120 somewhere now with the stock 10-bolt still. He uses street tires at the strip though, so really where it matter the most, on the launch, he still doesn't hit it much (if any) hard than a stock car does.

Pretty good times. What were your times before the stall? I want the same stall and have basically the same mods as you minus the stall and tire. Have any suspension mods at all? I'd be very happy with similar times to yours if I were to add a SS3600 and a tire. I'm sure I would need something better than 2.73's though.

I ran a 12.85@107.6 on a better day before the stall. And no, I have nothing done except intake/exhaust stuff and the converter. Oh, and I pulled the spare/jack out . lol
