Default Friday street night

Went to Richmond Dragway again last night for their AED Friday Night Street Shootout, i was doing a little work to the car so i got there kinda late, but i was able to get a few passes in. for a reference here is the thread to my last outing.

Since then i have seafoamed the the car, switched to Mobil 1 oil and ATF, and changed the tranny filter. next on the list is differential fluid and spark plugs/wires. I was really disappointed at first, the car was really having some trouble, but thats because i usually run Sunoco 93, but i was late leaving for the track so i settled with some cheaper 93... won't do that again, needless to say, so i ended up pulling some timing, and adding fuel via my Predator, and bam, dropped over a full second. (but like i said car was running horrible on the cheap gas.)

Before tune adjustments:

60:..............2.21
1/8 et:........9.37
1/8 mph:......77.33
1/4 et:........14.42
1/4 mph:......96.06

60:..............2.17
1/8 et:.........9.23
1/8 mph:.......78.55
1/4 et:.........14.20
1/4 mph:.......98.40

After adjustments:

60:.............2.06
1/8 et:........8.57
1/8 mph:.....85.71
1/4 et:.......13.18
1/4 mph:.....106.94

now i'm kicking my self for putting crappy gas in my car. I know that with a dyno tune and some DRs i'd be well in to the high/mid-high 12s. DRs will have to wait til next season though. i believe there are two street nights left and i am determined to reach two goals:

1: cut a 1.9x 60, on my street tires
2: break into 12's, with no/minimal modification

How was it running on the other 93, was it missing or sputtering, thats ALOT of time to be looseing from one 93 octane to another, you must have gotten BAD gas.

That shows how much little BS can make a difference.

Nice runs...

I think he was saying that your improvement shows how much little things can make a big difference. Let me know if you're hitting Richmond again next friday night, I few of us may roll down there with you. We normally go to MIR or Sumerduck on Thursday night, but I'd like to try Richmond too. I can pm you a good contact for local tuning if you're interested. Maybe you've seen my CETA around the burg??
