wrapping out 3rd in the 1/4?
Ive been reading and searching all weekend on the solution and am under the impression that I can extend my gearing by going with a taller tire (28"). Is this the easiest/best/correct solution?
The car is stock cubes, forged internals, 5.3L 2.5 heads, 228/232 .571/.588 113LSA cam. full bolt-ons.
Drivetrain is FLT LVL5 tranny, Yank 3500/2.5str, 3.73s. Tires are 275/40/17 Nittos
I downloaded the tune from my VCM even though the tuner said it was locked (not sure if this means its not) and see that the shiftpoints for 1->2 and 2->3 are set for 5200 which equates to 6000 on the scanner. 3->4 is set at 8160 which I believe is set so that I stay in 3rd through the 1/4.

Converter slippage, trans going out? Someting doesnt sound right, I mean even on a 26 inch tall tire, youre 3rd gear should top out around 123 mph or so on a stock size tire.
ill head over the the trans section of the board and start reading up there. Thanks for the reply!
Dave
1->2 5200
2->3 5200
3->4 8192
When looking back at the scan of my run it shifts just about 5.8k for the 1->2 but goes all the way up to 6.8k for the 2->3
edit: ive reviewed the scan for about the 15th time while posting this and am now only counting two gears (1->2 shift) which would mean im wrapping out 2nd and not third....which makes more sense. time to look else where.

Thanks for all the help everyone
