I've had no problem with Sportsman fronts and Radial rears.

I've gone 133 on them with no problems. I don't even know of anyone else who makes a Radial front other than Hoosier and the S/R fronts.

So you run the MT DR on the rear and the MT Sportsman 8 ply on the fronts and never had any problems at all? How is the wear on the fronts?

Correct..8ply 26x7.5-15 M/T Sportsman Fronts and 325/50/15 M/T ET Street Radial rears. I daily drove my car all summer, well, every day that it was not raining, and they still look brand new to me. They will be fine as long as your alignment isn't all out of wack.

Thanks. I wished I could run a rear tire as big as yours. Right now I have 3.73 gears but I plan on buying a Moser 12 bolt soon with 4.11's. I like how your car looks with that much rubber under it. Any problems with rubbing? Is your car lowered?

I also used to run a weld, but the drag lites. 15x10 with 7.5" BS and 15x3.5 with 1.75 BS. I ran the MT Sportman Front 26x7.50x15 8 ply. The rear, I used both a 325/50-15 MT DR and a ET Drag 28/10.5-15W.

Asside from the 1573's we've been mentioning. You may want to reconsider everything at this point. Since you do not have a new rear-end yet, there's quite a bit to consider. You're in a position right now, where I may even be able to help you with our Bogart wheels and setting up a rear-end and costing around the same as you're probably spending on your near rear with welds. In the end, you'll have a much better lighter setup all around.

Give me a call or e-mail me with my link provided below. Also include your full shipping address and I'll create a quote for you.

If you've already purchased the wheels...then there's no turning back unless you haven't mounted them.

I love the stance of the 325/50R15's. Will my 3.73's and stock 10 bolt pull this size tire down the track ok? How will it effect my 1/4 mile time?

I ran 4.10's on my setup. 3.73's is not enough gear for a 28" tire unless your pushing a fair amount of HP and cross the traps at a decent MPH. I ran 10.7's at 126 mph on my N/A stock CI setup and could have done better with 4.56 gears as I was not in my prefered RPM crossing the line. You will slow down in the 1/4 with a 28" tire if you change nothing else IMO. I love the stance as well, it takes some cutting and BFH mod to get them to fit though.

I'm actually going to be running the Billet Specialty wheels now in a narrowed rear and much lower stance than those pics. I will be running the 275/60-15R tire now as well, to compete in the 275 DR class.

If you are really going to do a new rear, I would call SJM and see what he can do for you. It would be preferrable to get a narrowed rear and a nice deeper dish wheel in there (looks so much better) and sounds like he has a plan to do some sort of package for you like that, just food for thought. You can always sell those rims you bought if thats the route your going to take.

BTW, here is how I got my wheels to fit with no caliper grinding, thanks SJM:

Heres the cut off bump stop I had to do:

and heres the area in the front I had to beat the crap out of:

Probably won't need to do any of that cutting of hammering with a 275 in there, just caliper grinding on stock calipers to get the rim to fit.
