Re: Racing on 4 wheel studs
Well, my first inclination is to say yes. Obviously if your on four wheel studs, you have lost 20% of the holding force that the wheel requires for general operation. Add racing to the mix, and that percentage seems to get alot taller.
My best advice is to just fix it. If your on ARP studs, obviously you are much better off then running the crap stockers. If you on the stocker, you just asking for disaster. It only takes a couple hours at the most to pull the axle's and replace a wheel stud. Upgrade to ARP's while you have it apart. And never worry about them again.
Here is what you need:
ARP 12mm 1.5 knurl studs--two sets of 5 $25 total
Rearend lube, GM Additive,Black Silicone and a local machine or speed shop should be able to press them on.
Or take it to Midas, Mieneke, or any full service chain repair shop. Cost you about $200 plus parts to properly fix it if you dont want to pull the axles yourself.

Re: Racing on 4 wheel studs
FastSS I was able to change out all 10 rear wheel studs without removing the axles... the only cost involved should be the studs.

Re: Racing on 4 wheel studs
I measured my stock studs at under 2". The ARPs are 2.5" according to Thunder's website. Thats cool, I'll just stay with stock studs for now.
