Default A few "progress" pics...

Just a few progress pics thus far... I've got the cowl cut for carburetor clearance, and have the new Griffin radiator mounts all fabbed up. I'm slowly working on body work in the engine compartment. I've still got a little fab work to do before getting the engine compartment ready for paint, but I've gotten a lot accomplished so far... Not that anyone gives a ****, but everything has been/is being fabbed up and done by me (except when I put the rollcage in)...

That thing didn't fit worth a crap so I tossed it into the garbage...

Actually, it's out of the car since I'm finished mocking up the engine. Now I need to polish it so it'll be pretty and shiny.

It's an empty 350 block (nothing but a bare block) with 2 cracked cylinders, and the junk 1967 307 heads and intake manifold off of my truck. It's just for mock-up purposes.

Looking good George. I have often wondered about removing that upper radiator support. How inportant is it to structural integrity?

No, that's one of Madman's motorplates. It fits perfectly.

Hopefully not very... It actually seems a little stiffer overall now with the .75" square tubing I used, plus I'm going to be fabbing a piece for the front that ties the two framerails together (where the bumper would go) and supports the plastic nosepiece and the front of the hood.

George, I would like to know more about why you've abandoned the LS1/LT1 and gone to a SBC. That possibility, along with BBC, has only crossed my mind about 1,000 times over the past year!

Yeah, but the color is changing to something a bit different.

I've only painted the bottom side of the rear wing so far, and I don't know how the color will look in a picture, but I'll to snap one or two. I don't dare say what the color is called for fear of ridicule, but it doesn't look like it sounds...

What did you do to keep everything in line when you removed that upper support? Mount something up where the bumper was and maybe toss a strut tower bar on there before cutting the old one out? Or even more extreme bracing?

Looks like it would be a good setup for those of us that are blown/turbo for fitting intercoolers and other plumbing.
