When I was doing my T56 Swap, I clipped a bunch of Wires that were extra, mostly the ones that were on the Auto Shifter. I traced each one and hit them with a Test Light to isolate the power ones so I didn't wrap them up and pop any Fuses. I cut out the little Light that illuminates the Shift Panel when the Marker Lights are on, and ended up killing the Back Lights for my Gauge Cluster. I guess that interrupted that Circuit.

I used a Pin Diagram and found the Wire on the Cluster that powers the Back Lights, and spliced into the one that lights up the Head Light Switch to fix my problem.
thanx bro, will definitely check for branches or a continuous circuit before i start pulling today so i dont mess crap up

Iv been working on my body harness for the past 3 days now. Damn its actually a lot of work and time involved! And i didnt even start on the bigger pcm harness. Its tough because i dont know what connectors are for what. Started with the radio plug and did all thoes wires and relays, moved on to the airbag ****, did the fog lights and dimmer switch lastnight. Still a lot left but also took a lot off. Only cut one wire i needed but i cought it real quick and put it back and soldered the wire back together. It was for my pcm plug under the dash, whoops, lol.

Do you know how much wiring there is for the plate? I bet it ways a few grams if that. When you see it you will know its not even worth it.

Not many cops will even notice the tires or the exhaust as long as you are not jumping on the gas, they will notice the plate a mile away.

Pull everything else leave the entire 4 inches of wiring for the plate or whatever it is.

Its easier to pull the entire harness and do it on a work bench. By the time I was done 95% of it was in the trash and thre was not much left to pull out of the car.

The majority of the wiring thats heavy and takes up a lot of room is in the radio/HVAC..... everything else really does not weigh that much really.

P.S. you can get the factory wiring manual pretty cheap..... sucks for people that don't use it and go to start the car and get nothing....

on one of the a/c wires, there is a purple wire that comes off of one of the a/c control harnesses that runs under the kick panel and up the sail panel around the location of the dome light. where does it end up?

it may be the wire that goes to the 3rd brake light. i know it is purple and goes up the driver a-pillar and goes into the hatch right by the dome light. hope this helps.

In my 93 my third brake light was a yellow wire that ran by the rear defroster. I accidently cut it out and had to put it back in there.

Nice, I keep going back to my harness and gutting more and more! I am going to manual windows/locks/mirrors soon so sure to lose a LOT of wiring there! I also took all the left over wiring in the engine bay and ran it in the tire wells and put the PCM under the dash!

need help on a few things... what is the black box? bcm? Its a '94 car and the other 3 plugs. They went somewhere on the pass. side and tie in with the 2 relays and the one ties into the plug under my dash for the obd plug-in....

edit: the blue plug has one wire going to one of the relays, one going to the obd plug under the dash, one goes to the intrument cluster as a tach. signal and one goes to one of my brake switches. But i cant find anything it would have pluged into to.

So if you had the complete wiring harness out of a car what would it weigh? My car is now a track only and would really only need engine harness, guages and starting. just trying to debate if its worth it or not incase i ever decide to drive it on the street for some reason.

when I gut the wiring in my car I am starting fresh using this. It may be a 23 circuit but it is small & Light, not to mention I can use the other circuits for other stuff like NITROUS BOTTLE HEATER, ETC
Just taught I would share not to mention it is only $150.00 comes will Fuse Block and all wiring GM COLORED CODED BTW
