Step on brake, push & hold button, let off brake and do burnout. When done let off button and roll out.

Come to a full stop with foot on the clutch and one foot on the break. Pump the break a few times. Flip the switch. Pump the brakes a few times to build pressure in the fronts. Put it in first or second depending on your gearing. Rev it up to 5000 RPM and dump the clutch. Hold the RPMs there until you're satisfied. Flip the switch to release the breaks and when the car starts moving forwards push the clutch back in and let off the gas. Make sure to pump the breaks again to build pressure in both front and back lines.

Launch the ***** off the car and know that there's still enough rear brake pads to stop you at the end of the track.

Once I flip the switch while burning out, I let it roll out and if the tires hit, or bark, then your mint.

That can slip the clutch a bit on you.

I am using 2 toggle switches. I personally do not like the push button, or atleast any that I have seen yet.

More than likely your clutch was on the way out. Some people start in first to get the RPM's up quick and then drop it in second so they don't burn out the posi and can roll out smoothly.

With cars that run a Bias ply slick you want the MPH to get properly heated and most m6 cars run 4.10's or 4.56's in back, and you do not get enough rpm/mph in 1st.

I have the SLP linelock with the toggle switch mounted in the ash tray. My dad's 68 GTO had the push button handle that just sat under his seat. I've run both cars at the track multiple times and had no problems with either.

What gears are you running? Sounds like either the clutch was shot or you weren't running enough gear to overcome the tire bite and the clutch started slipping instead. With the bolt-on power it appears you have plus no gears, I'm guess the clutch gave out before the tires. When I had my 3.42s and even the 3.73s I did first gear burnouts without a problem. Now with the 4.10s and GTO trans, I do second gear burnouts because the first gears don't heat the tires up enough unless I sit there for like 30 seconds.

Both? Use a toggle to energize the momentary button?

yhea, thats actually what I have in my (1969) camaro, but i always leave the switch on. The momentary button is on my steering wheel left hand side, so i can hold the wheel, and the shifter at the same time. However in my Trans Am (1999), I dont know what I will do because I dont want an ugly button anyware crudly held on to my steeting wheel, or a coil cord with a push button just layin around my car.
