Default Which shocks first front or rear?

So currently i'm running an eibach pro kit and kyb single adjustable shocks all around. The weight transfer with that setup seems to be pretty poor. I'm thinking of getting some QA1's. The reason i didn't get them in the first place was that I was told they wouldn't last very long on the potholed nyc streets. However, if i want to cut a decent sixty its going to be necessary.

My question is which will help improve 60 ft times the most the front shocks or the rear shocks? Of course i know having both is the ideal. I was thinking of doing the QA1 rears first since they don't take as much punishment on the streets as the fronts.

i would do afcos if money isnt an issue but i would also do the rears first or just save up a bit and do all 4 at once.

ive read on here that afcos are great. but they seem to be a bit too much for my street/strip car. i know the guys with the serious drag cars go with them but i'd be fine with some qa1s or strange single adjustables. i don't want to get myself overwhelmed with too much adjustability lol.

Personally I would go with the front first to help transfer the weight to the back especially if you have LCA relocation brackets to prevent the squat from the added force going to the rear...

Whats your car doing now on launch? Got video? Do your fronts hold the nose of your car down? Does your rear end squat? What are your other suspension mods?

I would do front shocks/springs first using a 300# spring, 325# spring may be a little better for a DD, 275# better for drag racing. Could probably get better advice if you provide more info on your current suspension mods. LCAs? LCA relocation brackets? What else you got?

rear shocks will do great for you with a rear tire that needs control of the hit. front shocks/springs will give you the weight transfer that you are looking for. if you are on a dot tire like et streets or radials, then the fronts would be a better first choice. a slick needs sidewall control therefore a good adjustable rear shock would be first.
Strange shocks are by far the best bang for the buck. better quality and less cost than the QA1s. the AFCOs are probably the best shock in their price range, but for the average street/strip guy the Strange shocks have been the best choice.
pm me for prices.... guaranteed best deal you will find.

so far i have the follwing suspension combo:

tubular k member
stock upper a arms
adjustable tubular lower a arms
eibach pro kit
kyb single adjustable shocks
subframe connectors
tunnel mounted torque arm
lower control arms with relocation brackets
tubular panhard bar
in the process of ordering spohn 25mm rear sway bar
tire is a mickey thompson et street drag radial

i don't have a video of the car upon launch. i have not been to the track in a while since i just got the engine back not too long ago and was working on the tuning but could not finish before the track closed for the winter. i do know that the front used to lift slightly with the old shocks and stock k member. i haven't tested it out now that i have the kyb adjustables, tubular k member, and tubular lower a arms on there. i doubt the car will have a bigger and better launch based on what ive seen so far when launching from a stop on the street. the front of the car raises (the body not the wheels) slightly and the m/t tires don't grip of course since it is a regular street with no prep.

I'd vote for fronts first. You should have enough adjustability in the rear suspension to eliminate squat/anti-squat issues that are often bandaided with adj. rear shocks. For the $$, I'd also vote for the Strange D/A's.

at what stage of the game would a person need dual adjustable shocks instead of the single adjustables?

What size tires/wheels? Looks like you have a nice set-up. I would replace all the springs and the front shocks. Stock rear springs should do fine, get the Strange shocks and a drag spring for the front. Adjust the **** out of everything and see what happens.

On my full bolt (338rwhp/339rwtq)on 3600 stalled Z28 I could dead hook on most any dry asphalt. That was with Hoosiers, 335/35/17, the M/Ts hooked ok but since I tried the Hoosier I wont use M/Ts.

im currently running stock 16 inch rims all around. one day i'll invest in skinnies and slicks but the car is 90% street 10% track driven so it will have stockers 90% of the time. the rear tire is a 255/50/16.

how did your car ride on the street with those drag springs? are drag springs lower or higher than stock?

IMHO, its not a stage, its just making the best purchase with the $$$ you've alotted for the mod. For me the D/A was the only way to go. For drag it lets you set the rebound loose to transfer weight quickly and keep the compression tight to bring it back down slower and smoother, with more control.

You would be surprised how much your launch can change with just a simple twist of a ****...it really lets you dial your car in for varying track conditions.
