I have read on here that you can save up to 25 lbs. I've been thinking of doing it myself. I would like to hear how it goes, keep us posted.

I got a 6x9 roll of black spectra carpet from pep boys.. Goes well with ebony and is light and cost 24.99 for the roll. Has a better backing than ozite (which I did find at wal mart for 8.88 for a 3x6 roll btw.)

I just bought the "lightweight" carpet from speed inc. I went to put it into the car, and seen that the fitment is ****. It only goes up t the top of the rear passenger seat area, not all the way over the rear hump area, like stock. So know im goin to have to find someay to cover that too. Anyone else have this problem, i will post pictures up tommarow of the fitment. I hope its not just me

I would send it back and do it myself if it cost that much and doesn't fit worth a damn...

The 'old' lightweight carpet (made by ACC) you can no longer buy, the 'new' ACC carpet now has a rubberized backing that cant be removed and weighs about the same as stock with all the stock padding attached.

It lays down a lot better though than the 'old' lightweight carpet..

Stock carpet with all attached padding = 35lbs on my scale.

ACC carpet (all the way to the T-top well) = 43lbs out of the box, 35 lbs trimmed to fit and the jute pulled off.

So if you are looking to save weight that isnt the way, ozite and spray glue are your ony choice for lightweight carpet nowadays I guess..

I just finished the install of the SpeedInc Lightweight carpet, It was a pain trimming it to fit around the 10pt cages etc, took a few days, but all worth it in the end, I installed Kirkeys and the rear seats, so I cut the section off the area under the rear seats and installed it on the top behind the seats looks factory.
