The lower transverse allows you to run a bearing on the bottom. So it'll keep binding down to 0 and let the rearend travel more freely so that would be the benefits of it.

Awesome build thread and great job on the 8 second pass. I am surprised your car is around 3100 raceweight. And I like how you kept the stock glass in with the cowl removal. Something I'm looking into but I would like a tab or something to keep the cowl panel up there. Shooting you a pm for a few other questions.

Just read all 52 pages of this in one sitting, saved so many pics, and have so many new ideas now after seeing your build.

Congrats on the 8 second pass, car turned out amazing, brother.

Had to catch up on this one, its been a while. Quick question, launching, foot brake, trans brake, trans brake with two step? Can you explain the differences between how these effect 60ft time and building boost off the line?

I know this question was not directed toward me, but I have some insight to share.

1.) The trans-brake will hold way more power than the foot-brake will.
2.) You don't have to worry about creeping in the beams on a trans-brake.
3.) Your rear suspension will work better than foot brake as the suspension will start out at rest and not heavily loaded. This lets the rear suspension drive the tires into the ground much better when the brake is released. Also, some cars (like mine) lift the front suspension when foot braked, so you lose some suspension travel and can hurt the weight transfer on launch.

My car is about 4 hundredths faster in the 60 on the trans-brake than on the foot-brake and I am not even turbo.

All good points, make sense, and I know each combo is different especially when boost is involved. The trans brake part makes obvious sense but I've been wondering why auto cars need 2 steps? Which is what made me ask the question since it sounded like he was on it pretty hard on one of the videos.

The two step allows you to control launch RPM consistently from pass to pass. Also, some cars make so much power that they will create too much heat or do damage if not limited by the two-step while on the brake.
