Default Are 325/50/15 overkill for my setup?

I'm currently running 275/60/15 MT DR's on my 10 inch prostars right now. Will the extra sidewall width benift me more or hurt me running to big of a tire.

Current setup has gone 1.43 60fts. with ETs in the mid 10s.

i dont think its overkill. first, i had much better 60' times and much more consistent with the 325 radials. plus, they look bitchin! lol.

I run 325/50 mickeys and love them. I'm pretty much running the same 60s and 1/4 as you. The tires seem to take a lot of violence out of a hard launch with the big sidewall

if your running a 275/60 right now and go to a 325/50 is the same thing there both 28in tires ...im in the mid 10's with the 275/60 and there guys much faster using the same tire , the extra weight is not worth it to me IMO.

looking at your pics you have 275/50/15 (26in) so you can go to a 275/60/15 and you will save a bit of weight over the fatter 325/50.... here is mine on a 15x10

i dont see weight being an issue at this level. i am sure there are a TON of other places where weight could be lost for additional performance. IMO, put on the biggest radial you can fit.

now if you are happy with your 60' times dont change, but if you are looking for 1.3 60' and lower - go for the wider tire.

I don't think that your 60's will pick up any just from the tire change IF you are hooking with the 275's. 325's do look killer but they are heavier. Rotating mass will hurt you a little more than if it was just something sitting in your car.

My street car has been 1.36 60 ft. on the 275's I believe it would slow down with the 325.This is at 3600 +lbs.
