Default 15X8 vs. 15X10 wheels...

What is the logic behind running a 15X10 wheel vs. a 15X8 when using a 275/60-15 tire? I am currently running 275/60-15 MT's on 15X8 Weld Pro Stars. Am I missing something?

well you fill the tire much better ...an 8 in rim is a little small IMO here's mine 275/60/15 on a 10in rim

The wider rim spreads the contact patch out more so the footprint the track sees is a little wider.

I'm still considering going to a 15x12 wheel with a 28x10.5s et drag tire. With the 29.5x10x15S tire, the 12 inch rim will definately work.

LOL, I could sell every part off my car today if I wanted to.

Just buy the whole car and be done with it.

I whole heartedly agree, if the rim is too small it will mushroom the tire and not leave the correct contact patch, also the tire gets spongy.

That picture of your car in another thread had me thinking and is one of the reasons I asked this. I guess maybe some 15X10's will be added to the wish list as well. I run consistently between 1.50 - 1.53 in the 60.' A different converter is in the works for this year to improve upon that. I am looking to knock off .3 in the 1/8 this year, not a small feat.
