You're going to wish you got the swingouts. Looks good. Needs some nice thick black paint on it though.

Yeah, I'll be painting it soon...just got it back today and will be busy swapping in my Moser 9" so it's not a top priority right now.

I don't drive my car enough to worry about swingouts... I put about 3000 miles on it a year.

Why spend the time putting the interior back in if you just have to take it back out to paint it? Never understood that.

Cage looks good.

The interior wasn't taken out... it can be done with just folding back the carpet.

It will be easy to do the same to paint it and just be careful not to get it on the carpet/seats.

Yup, I made that mistake. Not sure why I didn't have them do that to my cage.

If they can do it without removing the carpet, then what is the big deal with leaving it in?

Also, I have ordered a wrap-around harness. Oh, and about the price... I thought it was pretty good, considering another local shop wanted $1500 for the same thing.

If you look in the rule book (section 19 full bodied car and 10.5 )it has to have a way to hold the harness statinary and i was wondering what shop and i was saying that is good they did it without removing the carpet but i bet they cut 1 3/4 inch holes in the floor and dropped it down on my 6 points i dont do that because you could take it out and not have huge holes in the floor. Just trying to help i had a tech guy a few years back point that out .

They didn't cut holes in the floor...they put down 6x6" plates..which is correct..right?

Yes most shops including me do it somtimes so you can get off the headliner to make the top hoop welds( over the seat bars in your case or the forward and roof bars in a 10 point up) i dont do it on a 6 point because with the carpet out you can slide it forward enough to make the welds in the t top area and then slide them back and do the door bars last. it is hard to get a 6 x 6 on he main hoop because of the floor has a drop down in it where the main hoop hits the floor. The job looks good i just wanted to know who in memphis was doing them that good and that cheap. The shop that gave you the 1500.$ price i bet is down the street from Derick and Dennis because i have picked up some of there work due to there pice is out the roof in my opinion. I race @ MMP alot have i ever met you ? Just trying to help you cause you are some what local . Phil

Haha, yeah you guessed right on the 1500$ quote, the shop right by the Bailey Bros. I don't think I've met you before, but check out the white Camaro in my fquick link. Come up to say hello if you see me at the track.
