Trying to get the last bolt out. Its the front one, 2nd bolt back. Cant get a wrench on it at all. I have the other three out. If someone has a tool, ill buy it or if you want to loan it, i will pay shipping. Id cut it out if i had a grinder, but i dont.

that is a PITA to get out man. i just used a 1/4 drive ratchet with a 10mm socket on it with a 18mm or so boxed end wrench over the ratchet so it acts like a breaker bar and pull your *** off...btw be prepared for some busted up knuckels LOL

There is no way i can get a socket by itself on that one, too narrow of a space.

Take an angle grinder or dremel and cut the "nut" portion ears off. Then twist the tube with a pair of channel locks or pipe wrench and it'll pop out.

Grind down a 10mm socket and weld it to a peice of flat stock. Works like a charm.

I have this on my list to do this summer, I'm gonna "try" to just cut the bar in 1/2 inside the door to get it out... I hear that transam door's are easier to get to the bolt supposedly.

I think I'll have to snag an extra 12 pt 10mm socket and get someone to weld it to some flat stock, sounds like the easiest way.

Has anyone ever tried to put a gear wrench on and use that?

Do you guys think a plasma cutter would cut them out?

If you grind down a 10mm socket it will work.

Exactly what I did. It's still not a walk in the park though...

Its commonly known that firebirds are 10X easier than camaros to do this job on. I have a camaro, and couldn't barely fit a number of hacked/welded/bent/cut tools in there. The angle grinder knocks it out in a couple minutes, no BS.

Sounds good, but I dont have plates on the car and plus I still need to trim the cowl hood to do the ls1 lid conversion. I guess I do need a trimmer. LMK if you are ever out this way though. I guess technically I just need to do these two things so I can drive my car again. 309-678-9949
