Default Why no Hoosier 18192D05 allowed?

I noticed that many classes do not allow this tire. Is it because it is 29 inches tall versus the usual 28 inches of a 10.5 tire?
Seems that many classes outlaw them specifically.
Thanks

The Hoosier tire part # 18192D05 is outlawed in most True Ten 5 races because it has the same width as a MT W tire. The Hoosier tire is over 11 inches wide verses the MT tire at about 10.2 inches wide.

I copied and pasted that response from a thread on the shreveport drag racing forum. I figured the actual measured width would be the issue. It's a W tire without the W marked on the sidewall.

What all did you have to do to get the 29" tall to fit?

It's about making everyone stick to the same rules and getting a car to work on a smaller tire.
