Default Did you delete your PCV stuff. On your drag car

Just wanted to know if you guys deleted your pcv lines and just used breathers off the valve covers or did you use a catch can. Can anyone post some pics up to.
I was thinking of just taking all mine off and capping the intake. And buying the small breather for the valve cover ports and use one k&n for the oil spout.
This is a iron block with a fast intake n20 motor. Any opinions.

I just put an evac setup on there, just put the breather top on both valve covers and ran a hose directly into my headers. Probably doesn't pull a ton of vacuum, but better than none at all i would guess

At WOT there is no vacuum. You'd only have more ccp (crank case pressure) at idle and midrange. I deleted mine and after 30k miles my leakdown was no higher than 10% after testing all 8 cylinders.

Here's my opinion, and I recently went thru this on my car.
If you don't run any vacuum from the crankcase, you are leaving vapors in there that break down your oil. So you need to check/change oil way more often.
I'm running a hose with a catchcan from the valley to the intake. I have had problems with oil getting past the can into the intake, so I recently added a pcv valve in there. I haven't driven it much to confirm it, but I'm sure the valve is going to stop the oil from being sucked in when the throttle body is mostly closed, by regulating the amount of vacuum. Later on I'd like to get a vacuum pump on there.
Also, you can supposedly pick up power by scavenging pressure under the piston, but I have seen the issue debated.

Debating this same thing right know. To delete or to run a catch can???? My motor is pushing 100K so I will probably try to treat her nice and run a can.

Correct. Your oil will get dirtier (is that a word?lol) quicker. But I always change my oil every 4 months regardless of how many miles are on it. Then again if this is on a street/strip or drag car oil should really be changed more often anyways IMO.

Track car, you should be changing the oil every track trip. Use regular oil, no synthetic, just strait old motor oil, change the oil and filter every tirp. Now, with that being said, you now no longer need to concern yourself with comtaminents. Start the engine and warm it then change the oil, to get all the comtaminents into the oil.

I run a set of nasty valvecovers, with a -10 an line running across both covers to a moroso catch can. Eventually a vacum pump will make it's way on the car, where I will run the -10 line to the pump then a line to the can ( did this way to make the pump install later easy) At that point it will pretty much be sealed again, but for now the breather setup is working fine, no oil in the intake at all, plugs look cleaner now then they did with the PCV system as well.

i pull a trailer everyday with my 2500. ive had a breather on it since i brought it home.
no oil in the intake on this truck. its turned 100K if that matters.
i change the oil every 4000 miles. 10w40, non synthetic.
