Default Roll Cage Padding Opinions

I recently bought some JAZ padding which is SFI 45.1 rated, it was too small for my cage pipe diameter. Which do you guys order, the simpson padding looks to fit 1-2" pipes.
Also do most of you go with the SFI 45.1 (although not needed till 180mph) for added safety or do go go with other?

I think the half circle padding seems to be the best choice.

what size are your tubes? If you are running a rollbar or converted rollbar, you'll have 1 3/4" piping which I don't think you'll find 45.1 stuff for...

most 45.1 stuff is the half-moon stuff...never a bad idea to run since its rated for higher impacts and flame retardancy...

you can find stuff to fit 1 5/8 anywhere

I put the Simpson 45.1 stuff in recently, it is half moon shaped like Fireball said and has adhesive backing so you don't need zip ties. It fit my Wolfe bar fine and I used the highest rating it in case I gonk my head during street driving. Good luck,

Larry

Haha, very true. One of the many drawbacks of needing a bar to race. Maybe this year I can race all season at Cecil without getting the boot

Man that stuff is BEEFY! I can barely use my rearview mirror with my Simpson padding, I imagine your rearview is useless now. Good find,

Larry

The bar is in the way of the rearview right now, plus i dont plan on putting padding on the front bar anyway, there should be no way my head hits that bar. Unless you are referring to the padding on the bar behind my head blocking the view .

Yeah, I mean being able to see out the rear with the mirror.
