Default Stall question N20 guys.

Just wanted to know on a nitrous stall 4200 w/t400 /brake. How much does a the nitrous stall afffect you NA runs. I ran mine at the track today and its like pulling a boat anchor until you get above 5500 in 1st then the car wakes up and pulls hard has hell.
Nitrous motor.Custom nitrous cam and nitrous stall.
Here is a pic of the run on motor sorry the vid is shakey. Took it to the track to get the motor dialed in first before I start my Nitrous tune. Cant wait to shoot the juice to it.

It should fall back about 1500 rpm on the gear change when your spraying all your N20.

Mine is a terd on the motor also.

yea mine is a major turd. Also thanks again. You helped me pick my N20 cam out and it hauls.

My best motor pass last year was like 11.8's
But it would run 9.3's on 200

Mine is weird. It was running pretty consistant 11.7's, but ran 11.6 letting off early once. I don't know why, track/air must have been incredible that day.

FTI just built me a 4500 stall converter that should be good for both n/a and the bottle. It seems a little higher than what most people run on the bottle, but I left it there hands to build me what they thought would be best for me. I'll see how it does this Friday and Saturday.

back when i was running n2o, the car would run 9.60's on motor and 8.20's on a 400 shot

Nitrous converters/gearing does kill your NA times. With my old 355 combo I would run 11.9@114mph 1.745 60ft. set up for the bottle--28"tires and 3.70's (the same converter with 4.11's and 26" tires went 11.4@118 1.579 60ft). On a 150 shot the car would go 10.35@129-130 with a 1.43 60ft. So 1.6 seconds and 15-16mph out of a 150 shot. The only good thing about the nitrous setup was the ability to dead hook NA on the street.

However, with the new 383 combo I will be only spraying a max of a 250 hit very rarely and would rather run a little faster NA so I will be choosing a converter based on this criteria. I am also looking to go with FTI for this converter.

I just sent my converter in to get tightened up a little bit, because it was even loose for NA applications. I also told them to tighten it even further for future N20 use. Watching that car launch on motor kind of has me worried. I was cutting 1.39 60' times NA before. I know my 60's are going to suffer on NA passes once I get my converter back, so I sure as hell hope the N20 gets it back to where it was. Although like Nostang brought up, it will be nice to have better traction on the street.

It is a Yank 4000 stall, so Dave at Yank is tightening it.
