Default whats the deal? cant hook

car is a cam only car with 200 shot
midwest chassis 9 inch with spool and 3.90's 4l60-e and yank ss3600
car is on 325/50/15 m/t drag radials and skinnies

ive got afco da's up front, strage da's in the back
wolfe drag bar
ok front compression is full stiff always, tq arm is in the lowest hole, lcas are in the lowest hole also angled slightly up
tires at 17 cold

it might have been the track im not sure but i hooked a while back on this same setup, other day at the track i couldent hook at all, the rears i put ext on about 6/10 loose and compression on 6/10 tight, front ext is about 50% this is where i hooked last time...

i worked my way up to the rear ext being full lose compression full tight and front ext full loose and the car still wouldent hook. I stabbed it i could feel the car start to spin then instantly petal it and it would hook fine, so just the initial hit wont hook (when i petaled it i wasnt even 10 feet off the line) so i think i just need to initially hit the tires harder or the track was that crappy...im goana give it another go but what can i do to hit them harder? tq arm one hole higher?

am i going about adjustments wrong? the fronts i understand completely...tighten if the tracks better loosen if its bad...the compression stays stiff

the rears since the suspension is pushing the rear down i thought loosen extention more and more to let the suspension push the tires down easier, compression im not sure but after the rear is pushed down and the body starts to fall down onto it i figured u want that to be stiff to keep the weight on the rear?

with your super high first gear and 3.90's and 28" radial i'd think you need to soften the hit or move to a lower ratio 1st gear tranny or put a 3.42 rear ratio in that 9".... you have too much multiplication...

here's a few things that may help for now...

more air pressure in radial
raise LCA one hole
bring TA one hole up

try one of those at a time starting with top.

Maybe do a better burnout. I used to have trouble with mine and could never get the car to hook.

i always found hooking a big shot on the 4l60 was very hard to do even on a good track. the first gear just kills it. you need a 400 or a progressor.

well i had trouble even on a 125 shot...car 60' 1.60's with 26's and 1.70 with 28's...even on a 100 shot it should go 1.4...i went a 1.38 with 26's and a 125 shot...

i know the first gear is harsh...but reading a bunch last night ect.
i just went outside and looked at my instant center and it would have been about rear of the tranny bottom of the pan...so i adjusted the tq arm up 2 holes and looks like instand center should be about dead center of the tranny now, just below the shifter...im hoping now doing that and adding pressure to the tires ill hit them a bunch harder, and if i can just get it to initially hook i think it will be fine

i hopw im on the right track

this i hate...i cant lower my car anymore because the lca will be angled down instead of up...which sucks...i think i can make brackets and extend my current relo brackets (built into my rearend) i just wish i didnt have to mess with it...

also if i do this i get into another problem with the tq arm hitting the floorboard...geez...what a pain
