Default race gas???

So do you think running race gas will get me any gains over 93? 11:5-1 compression H/C/I LT1 making 425rwhp?
Think race gas would help on the dyno and dragstrip???

There are a lot of different "Race" gases. Im positive there are some out there that will help, and a lot more out there that will hurt.

Youll need to try several, but you ideally want a gas that has the lowest octane, that will not cause detonation, maybe something oxygenated.

I would try VP street blaze 100, MS 101 or MS103. Theyre all unleaded in case you have a catalytic converter still, and Ive had good luck with the unleaded fuels even without a cat.

So you do think there are some gains to be had from switching, once I find the right race fuel for my car. Any idea on what I could expect to pick up?

No cats here. stepped LTs into 3"TDs

Unless you have it tuned for higher octane I doubt you will see any more power from it. I wouldn't waste your money on it.

Yeah I forgot to mention without tuning it is worthless. If you can re-tune, you can get more aggressive with your timing or maybe pull some fuel at WOT.

Thats what I thought.I might just throw some in at the track to find out for sure. Ill do a couple runs on 93 then mix in some 100+ and see if it picks up at all. If the weather gets better the track should be open this week!

higer octane doesn add any power higher octane amount just allows you to run higher cylinder pressures and compression ratios without pre detonation

I agree. I've done it tons of times and I don't think you will see any real gains unless the car is setup for it. Or needs it. You can call VR race fuels and talk to a tech guy that would give you the lo'down.
