Default Question on Fitting a 28in slick on a T/A

I'm getting ready to put some 28x10's on my Trans am and couldn't find any pictures of the other things you need to clearance other then rolling the 1/4 panel, it looks like i almost need to cut off the back of the rocker that is in front of the tire? could someone shed some light on my situation? some pictures of other trans ams with 28in slicks and what they had to do to fit them would be nice too thanks!

I'm just waiting for someone to ask why your wheel wheels are painted red. Good post!

I cut the little triangle out in the front just to be safe, and trimmed the rear bumper cover, just the portion that wraps around the inside of the wheel well. I started about where the screw is that holds it in place, and strait down from there. I did beat the inner fenders in some too, like the marks above. I didn't cut any of the bump stop off though. That I left all intact.

Gone 142+ with a 28x10.S tire and never rubbed a bit.

Why would you roll the 1/4 panel, J-L just told you he did not do that. I have run 28's on my car and they only rubbed just a little bit on the bumper cover at the back of the tire.

I would not roll the 1/4 panel for what it is worth!

for whatever reason if you do decide to roll the quarter panel, use a heat gun and get the temp up pretty good in the area being rolled. just make sure you dont burn the paint.

I didnt roll it. I just bolted them on. I did have to grind down the bracket for the bumpstops though. I had to put adj lca's on cause I only had about 3/16th clearance from rubbing the rear bumper cover. But I had several inches in the front, so I just pulled the rear forward 1.5in. I couldnt get my pinky finger between the tire and the bumpstop

ok thanks for the info guys it seems as tho i'll go with just trimming the bumper and the part of the rocker for now and leave the 1/4 alone unless its needed and idk why but my tiresarent that close to the bump stops at all or the inner fender well either.. maybe its because they are a 10in tire and not a 10.5

He rolled his 1/4, I saw the tool sitting right there. I do not think it was much but when I visited him the tool was on the car.

Also another note, what Rim are you going to use??
