Default I wanna lose some weight.. 3966lbs

My car needs a diet, here is the breakdown on whats added over factory:

Entire D1-SC setup (headunit, twin IC's, piping etc.)
Alkycontrol Meth Kit (single nozzle)
3 Core Radiator
6 point Wolfe w/swingouts
Moser 12 bolt
BMR Heavy Duty Anti-roll Bar
Spohn lower control arms, panhard, SFC's, relocation brackets
Fuel system

It's an aluminum block 396 car too, so nothing really added there.

The car has zero weight reduction and with me in it (I weigh 175), the Bogarts with 28 M/T DR's it weighs 3966 lbs with 1/2 tank of 93.

Anybody have any ideas of what I can do to shed a few hundred pounds off it? It is a street car so I don't want it super loud on the inside (dumped 3" magnaflow race mufflers), but other than that, I don't care. Thanks!

Front and rear bumper supports? I think that would be about 80 lbs. Air bags are really heavy too. Might be able to kill off about that much weight again. Relocate battery in the back so at least the weight is in a better place.

Take a look in the sticky for all the weight lists.

Cool thanks, you mean the metal bumper supports, not just the foam/egg crate stuff?

Not sure as I have not yet done it. I'm going to when I remove the facia to have it painted along with the hood.

Do a search for, like, "removing bumper supports" or something; there are a few long threads about it with pics, etc.

I'll look it up for sure, I just don't want the bumper to wave around like a few that I've seen

Burkhart makes a brace to support the front bumber to keep it from sagging after you remove the factory stuff.

The whole bumper support, it is pretty hefty. You will loose the fog lights because they are connected to the support. Just FYI

What I would do on a street car is remove the bumper supports, use a lightweight battery, tubular K, ditch the back seats (unless you need them), lose the TCS/ABS, and use CM on the suspension stuff whenever you can.

I have my iron block/D1SC car down to about 3100 w/o driver, but I removed the HVAC, installed the speedglass back window, installed manual drag brakes, and have a TH400.

The TRZ rear sway bar is really nice, it will drop alot of weight if you're using one of the spohn or BMR drag bars.

Bottom line is once you get past the "free stuff" (bumpers, spare/jack, backseat, etc) be prepared to either make sacrifices to your comfort or sacrifices to your budget.

It really depends if this car is a street car that sees the track or a track car that sees the street. If you roll around with the 6 point all the time and the bar is protecting your side is there, then you can remove the door bars. You can put a Burkhart bumper support, remove HVAC/Stereo.

Lightweight carpet etc etc, there is alot there you can do. Just Depends on your tolerence.

Not if you will cut the upper part off the bumper you can leave a thin strip of the metal that retains fog lights and lower bumper supports. I have done this with my last two cars and it works great and only weighs two or three pounds

Burkhart also offers the provisions to keep the foglights with their brace

How much weight does each of these knock off? I like the idea of losing the weight, but not the fog lights.
