Gona bump this back up wanted to see if anyone has cut the underbracing out from under the stock hood. Can i do this and leave the latch supports? I know this will make the hood weaker but for a drag setup will this work?

I think so, have a buddy that only runs one hood lift shock thing, hood pins, and the rest is cut up.

Sounds good thanks man. I thought about doing this but leaving the shock mounts and the front where the latch is if possible!

Have you taken off your front bumper support? That will yield more of a weight loss and is further forward.

There is tons more stuff you can cut out. You can lose the trunk area...rear tubs for t-tops, all interior seat brackets, cut the roof out in between the tops, sail panels, loose upper panhard bar brace, front inner fender metal, core support, gut the doors and rear hatch. Im going to gut the underside of my hood and make it a pin on setup. If its just a track only car you could also lose the wipers to. There is tons and tons of usless wiring in the car you can strip to. Do you still have the ABS in there and cruise control? Hope this helps out.

Yeah crusie is gone inner fender metal is gone. I have thought about the sail panels and the t-top hump in the middle been waiting on a cage for that. Doors done and ive thought about the trunk area that may be a winter project. I may take the wipers off this weekend it dosnt get drove in the rain. Keith the windows are tinted and some nights its hot enuf down here you wish you could race in your undies! lol

Haha, I can understand that. With no carpet and barely no firewall insulation, I CAN'T cool my car off. I need to get my windows tinted again.
