I have an MSD 6A box and I mounted it on the drivers side inner fender on the flat spot near fuse box...You wont be able to use all mounting holes, and you have to move the fuel lines...i just moved the loom and drilled a new hole in the inner fender and snapped the lines back in... but it looks good and is away from lots of heat and the elements...Been on the car for 7 years with no issues...

Inside the car on the HVAC panel. MSD boxes hate heat, avoid underhood if possible.

Im thinking I want to put it right in front of the fuse box. Since I have Ram Air there is a nice flat spot with easy access to the dials where a normal air box or CAI would go. There is even a nice plastic panel covering up the hole.
Alan,
Thats where I had my MSD6al box in my 97, but the Digital 6 plus looks too big to fit there.

I will check it out tonight, I need easy access to the dials, for the 2 step, rev limiter and timing retard.

not exactly sure what box you're running, but if its a Dig 6 you should be able to get to the dials, Might be hard to see though. I mounted my Dig 7 there, and keep the serial cable in the glove box.

Next best option might be to make a mounting plate and bolt that to floor on the trans tunnel/bellhousing area in the passenger side. That would give great access to the dials, keep it cool, and eliminate some vibration. Call me paranoid but Ive seen too many MSD boxes do weird **** because they get too much heat and vibration.

How does an msd box connect to a ls harness? I'm really liking the 6a-2 programmable box.

Id get that jegs mounting plate, and mount it to the side of the trans tunnel in the passenger side.

As for an msd box with an LS engine, other than the 6010 box, not sure if any play well with the stock ECM system. Im using my 7531 box on a carbed/distributor converted LS engine.

I ended up putting it in the engine bay in front of the fuse box where a stock lt1 airbox should go. Its as far away from the motor it can be and has lots of ventlation so I think it wont get too hot. Plus the car barely gets drivin so Im not to worried about it.
2 step is pretty cool! Cant wait to test it out!
