Don't take my post above as complaining yours is hauling the mail, regardless. I do LOVE running in cold weather if you get enough sun loading to hook. That's why I bracket race during the summer months and go for the banzai runs in the early & late part of the years. I'm just bumming that the car is up until April. Take care.

LOL...its funny to see everyone get so defensive! I just posted it up since no one had yet......2100 NEGATIVE DA has a pronouced effect on your times. Not taking away anything from your car...its running strong, but you can't say that -2000 da's don't help! Most people don't realize the huge benefit that the weather can play...I watch the DA's everytime i go to the track, as its a huge factor in the way a car will run and MPH.

I don't think anyone is getting defensive, they are just trying to answer your post about the DA witch is different than what the DA was at the track. I don't know where you got 33 degrees from, Brent didn't have his snow tires on for that kind of weather. LOL
This link shows the weather conditions through out the day.

http://www.weather.com/weather/pastw...=8&when=111003

You can look at the time on the time slips to cross reference the weather to the run time. Keep in mind that ATCO has a large asphalt parking area and staging lane, as a result the track temps are a few degrees higher at the track, 5-10 degrees depending on wind speed 3-7 mph. The weather was great, but it wasn't -2,300. At the track the DA was between -1000 to -1500 during the day when we he ran.

Are you serious JS? Im an asswipe for looking up the weather figures on www.wunderground.com? Get real man...I understand the actuall weather conditions ON the track will be alittle different, but some of us weren't there, and didn't see your prized weather station Also, when someone post up a number that is impressive, I look for things that make them go that fast that might not be obvious. First thing I check is the weather...asswipe.

I do own a weather station and use it when I do go out to bracket race. For banzai day, I just turn on my weather radio function on my Motorola 2-way. I keep reams of data, data log most runs, and have developed very good correction factors generated for my car based on DA's.

However, since we are, on forums like this, just "internet racing", my vote would be for us to agree on which site's formula for DA and weather history is "correct" in order to quote consistent DA's...for comparision only. Obviously, if the weather station is set for station pressure vs. altimeter setting, there would be a big delta.

Just use what either the NWS or Weather Underground reports as the weather for a location and stick it in the NWS's DA calculator assuming the baro as "station pressure". This way, people should not have wildly different DA's quoted for the same weather conditions as you see happening now. Take care.

Where did he say anyone was lying? He merely pointed out the -2000 DA as a factor in their 10.59. Do you not think it was a signifigant factor? How did the Cartek cars run at Thunder Shootout? I would assume 10.60s-10.80s like they usually run. Or did none of them show up?

Awesome times but I do agree it is a very good idea to mention DA and raceweight in your times. Thats' what I do anyway.

A corrected time would be cool. This is why I wish some of you guys could have made it down to LA. At our 1200DA that we were running the 10.59 corrects to a 11.00 at 124.20mph(-2000DA to 1200DA)

Don't take it wrong still awesome times...bet it's fun to watch them old schoolers **** over how fast the newer stuff is on motor.

Spanky come on man,They did mention DA but Chris still acted like they were lying. If the guy tells u it was -1200 to -1500 why not believe him?

This is BS...
The bottom line is the car went 10.59@129....
