!!!!!!!the Vette Doctors C5 Runs 9.39@148!!!!!!!
Congratulations to Major Spray and The Vette Doctor!!!!!!
Paul really had it working today!! On his second pass he ran a 9.39@148!! This is with his Vette Doctors LS6 422. For those of you that do not know about this car it is a pure work of art!!
It is a 2001 Z06 that The Vette Doctors performed their most sophisticated surgery on. First they converted it to an automatic using all C5 parts including transplanting the entire wiring harness. The car uses all the stock PCM, BCM and electrical systems. The C5 A4 tranny received their RX Upgrade and they installed a custom design N20 Torque converter. The car still retaines all the stock suspension components and is COMPLETELY NHRA Legal which causes it to tip the scales at over 3500 pounds!!
They then built Paul one of their incredible 422's! It features a Vette Doctor’s custom solid drive train, LS6 heads, and several other Vette Doctor exclusive offerings. This engine is running a custom ported and plumbed LS6 direct port N20 manifold with a 300 shot. This engine on the N20 makes an incredible RWHP and RWTQ and is tremendously reliable. As of this evening Paul made 8 Nine Second Passes on this Driveline including the Tranny in the past 2 outings!
The following are Paul’s 3 runs from today:
1st - 9.72 @ 144.77 1.49 60 ft – (lost traction mid track had to get out of it)
2nd – 9.39 @148.5 1.49 60 ft 117.7mph in the 1/8 (spun at the top of 1st slightly)
3rd - 9.57 @ 147.9 1.50 60ft – (spun out of the whole)
The traction was good but not great as was the DA. It was about Sea Level.
I know Carmen and Dennis have a lot more tweaking to do with that beast and there is definitely more in her!!
Video and time slips are on their way!!

Thanks Guy's
As far as the fastest NHRA legal C5 goes that is a small field only two that I know of.
Wade is still King!!! I hope to take the record soon. Hopefully that will get Wade to break out the beast again.
I am sure we have teens in her I don't know about 8's that is a long way off.

Congrats Major Spray, job well done by you and the Vette Doctors. Can I borrow your transmission? Since I picked up 90 RWHP my car has broken the Rossler $3000 trans twice in two passes. Whats your secret? I have a progressive controller and last pass when it timed out at 1 second the trans broke again, first gear sprag again. Inquiring minds want to know.
FWIW, my cage is certified to 7.50, what is the deal with "NHRA legal"

I wish I had the answer on the tranny I have gone thru a half a dozen this season not including the two Yank turbo 400's. I am now running a time delay relay set at .50 this has given me 9 passes to date on this unit a new record for me. The yank system looks like it might be the way to go I just got a new unit from mike he made some design changes we will see how it works out. As far as the NHRA legal thing. I went thru a lot of BS getting my cage certified> We were in constant contact with divison 1 working out the proper conections due to the chassis design of the C5. We were told that they have never needed to certify a C5 car before. It is a full chassis car their for plates are not acceptable. You must use box connection/out riggers and connect to the top. There is no way to just go to the frame due to the design and all the out riggers are in the car due to the floor boards being below the frame. It took two try's to get approval and we were told that my car was used to set the standard for C5's Photo's were going back and forth NHRA main office for approvals. It was hell. Bowery Boy's car was then done to meet the standard.
Thats the scoop. Who did your cage and what division are you in?

You guy's have come a long way with that little 346 congrats.
I wish I was able to run a solid axle and a trans brake but then eveyone would say its not a C5 anymore and I can't take all the crying. One day I will back half but for now I will just have to live with my time delay relay
