Oak Ridge is in the SE part of the state about 10 miles from Cape Girardeau. Mrdragster1970 beat me to the explanation, the HEI is self contained with a module (which is all an aftermarket ign box is). All it takes to fire my engine is a single wire from a switched 12v source. You could start my engine on the ground if you had a fuel supply to the carb and 12v to the HEI.

.

I'm old, that was what we thought was high tech, back in the day.
Everything in one was awesome, no more frigging points welding together or moving.
Until we started to make power & they couldn't handle the RPM.
I have about 5 on the shelf, they were great as MSD testers also.

Oh yea, that would be MSD-5.

I had computer problems with my car so I went to carb and the car went faster ? The carb made easier for me to tune. I ran a best of 10.46 N/A and 9.62 on a 150 shot with the 408 in this picture. Buy a good carb its worth every penny.

^what problems were you having with your computer? Doesn't the carb setup still use the comp for the coil packs?

I also made the switch to carb back in 2008 but I don't have any pics of the updated engine bay. I'm running a AED carb and the 6010 box(had the Edelbrock box before).

3timeracin; the pic of your nitrous setup is going to help when I start mounting my solenoids and running my lines
