Default Who has used this Rear Sway Bar??

Spohn Pro-Series Rear Drag Sway Bar

http://www.spohn.net/shop/1998-2002-...-Sway-Bar.html

What did like or dislike. This car will need a bar like this. I do not quite want to go to a Wolfe Racecraft, and the front sway is off this car.

I have one. It fit well with my Midwest Chassis 9".

The car handles and drives nice - the thing I hate about the bar is how loud the rod ends are! It's fine on smooth pavement - any thing else and it rattles, bangs and clunks. It sounds like it's going to rip the mount point right off the frame.

It does work well at the track!

Do you run Adj shocks or have the front sway removed?? Do you loosen it up for street driving?? I do hear year on the Rod end, I am not a on them but considering for this peice, having near no deflection at all is the purpous.

How was taking turns?

i have the bmr unit. the car launches perfectly straight at the track with it on. on the street i cant really tell its there since i dont get any noise from the rod ends but their torqued on pretty tight. on the turns i dont have any problem since i dont take them like an idiot. just repsect the fact that its there when you're taking a turn and you'll be fine. currently i have no complaints the car was always rough on bumps and it still is so no difference there.

Hello,

Like mentioned please keep our item in mind as well. It is a similar set-up however our bar is bent around the shocks unlike that bar. This allows for clearance when adjustable shocks and keeps from tearing the adjusting **** up. We are running them for 20% off for a few more days as well

Our bar is 1.250" 4140 Chrome Moly steel, its a bolt in set-up with welding required once it is in place. It is adjustable and features Teflon lined rod ends... we will also be more then happy to tell you how to just it and set it up.

Here is the link- http://www.umiperformance.com/catalo...ex&cPath=7_114

If you have any questions please ask. Thank you!

UMI is the way to go, I got mine in the mail the other day and it looks great, solid piece. They accidently forgot to throw in the hardware, a couple of bolts some washers and what not. I gave them a call and they were on top of it I recieved hardware within 3 days of calling them. You cant beat the price, or customer service!
Thanks UMI!

QA1's in the front - stock in the rear.

The front sway bar is removed. I haven't touched the adjustment on the rear sway bar since the initial preload.

I'm pretty sure if you set both side adjusters were equal it wouldn't make as much noise. But then the suspension wouldn't be preloaded properly and may or may not be as effective on the launch.

My car would have had the UMI piece if it would have been out a month earlier.

I have the spohn drag bar on mine, and it deffinently makes your car sound like a pile of crap when you hit the smallest bump...lol but it does the job extremely well. Its the only non umi product under my car...since they didnt have theirs out last year.... . But If it clears the shocks, grab it. If not you have to get adapters or something along the lines of that

I have used this bar for 3 years and love it. Many low 1.40 60 foot times with a little ole 346 CI engine NA on a 26 inch tire. Front bar is off with adjustable shocks on back and front. I have not really had any problem driving around but I do not drive the car much anymore.

Really?

Mine took about 3/8" to 1/2" of adjustment to get the preload right. So with the passenger side being longer it just wants to rip the drivers side off when you go over uneven pavement.

Maybe I'll shorten the passenger side a couple turns and see if quiets down.

I feel I have mine set pretty close. You can see it in the photo and both front tires are the same off the ground. My best 60 foot is 1.34 so far!

The Spohn wont clear bigger shocks, until they fix that I dont why anyone would buy one when there are other choices out there. I went 1.23-1.25 60 foots with the Spohn but the fact it doesnt clear the shocks and the others do made me put a BMR on this car.

They all rattle some from the rod ends, if they are preloaded a lot they wont rattle as much. Thats just a fact of life with rod ends, even the nice Qa1s the Spohn comes with will start banging pretty good over time. My Spohn and my BMR rattled over small bumps but you get used to it.

Only running Comp Engineering shocks out back so not worried about the fact a bigger shock does not work. Mr. KP went a best of 1.23 with a Spohn Drag Bar and Comp Engineering Shocks so I am good for a long time.

Had one on my '98 Formula but it was hard to adjust the rear QA1's. I have a UMI one here that I'll be installing once I get the remaining fuel system part I need.
