AWESOME it is just amazing to see how far you have come along, i remember when you were still assembling the red rocket in the hotel parking lot at the first ls1tech race years ago in KY, and it was a NOS car

great job

Thanks, those were some fun times for sure. Not many of us originals left in the game anymore.

How did Florida go? I looked for some updates and didn't really see anything?

The track was junk for starters, best pass was 7.99 at 197 with a 5.4 at 144 to the 1/8. Then my trigger wheel bolts backed out on the 3rd pass taking my oil pump belt out and then my fuel pump belt and naturally the trigger wheel broke loose next. All this took place right after the 1/8 where a HUGE boom ensued and shook the hell out of me and the car. I went 5.0 at 162 to the 1/8 still peddling it twice. Got back and leaked it down to find cyl 3&5 at 50%. We took the hub to a local machine shop to get fixed and over nighted some belts from Jones to the track. Took the head off to find the gaskets looked ok so put it back together and leaked it again. There was minimal bubbles if any in the overflow can but the crank case was pretty loud. We ran it one more time but dialed it back a little to try to keep it alive for a few rounds and that was the 7.99 at 197 pass. Leaked it down again when we got back and #3 had 100% leak. I had a constant 20in of vacuum at all times but the last pass I cut off at the same time I pulled the shoots and at that point the pan vac was at 15in and dropping. We just loaded it and cleaned it up for a photo shoot at GMHTP studio. I went to Universal with Joe and our families for the rest of the trip.

Nothing is apart yet because I have been traveling and trying to catch up at work but we will be ready for Georgia in Feb. If I can afford to get the RHS block together by then I may be running that but more than likely I'll just keep the LSX block since it is ready to go (assuming it is not hurt!)

Sucks to hear you had some problems, but with a completely new car, it happens.

Curious to see what the problem could have been, I'm sure it's gonna be nasty when you get it back together.

Any updates, as to what you're planning? If the radiator is coming out (thanks on that by the way I'll get the $ together asap and to ya) I'm curious what you're up to.....

The plan is to get a few more pounds out of the car. I think I can get the car down to 3100 race ready with 275lbs of me and the monster LSX block. I am going to get rid of the factory power windows and the rear factory glass for starters. I have an RHS block but that will not be in until summer times I am guessing. There are a couple more weight reduction ideas coming as well but I will post those details a little later.

We were excited to see you at the top of the pack down in florida but its always tough with a new car. It sucks to hear about the trigger wheel, its an integral part of how the motor runs and if its off it will be a mess. Good luck gettign her back together. The LSx block should be fine. Keep at it man! We all know too well that at this level its tough. Best of luck!

Do you think the middle cyl's getting hurt have anything to do with the intake? Phil and Brian seemed to find the middle ones running hotter with the carb type intake if I remember right, and Kurt was finding a similar problem with the Ohio boys cars... any thoughts about that being a possible cause of the problem?
