Well, the switch to alcohol and high compression has definitely proven to make the power where and when I need it to run a competitive number in the ODR field! The engine dyno could not hold a full pull but we were able to see 1900ft lbs at 6000rpm with 24lbs of boost. My LSX block was the same block I ran last year when I hurt it in Florida with a devastating backfire; with that being said the block let go in a bad way on the first attempt at an 1/8mi pass. Naturally I had the block thoroughly checked prior to running it again and it was good but at this point who knows. From what I can tell it could not have been the horsepower that hurt the block but the massive tq coming in so fast and low. Soooo, my next steps are mainly surrounding what to do about the block. If I get a new LSX block fast enough I can get that in the car and continue testing the car while I study the long term fix which may be a solid cast LSX block, solid cast RHS block or DART billet block. Each route is under consideration at this point.
Aside from my block issues I did have an unrelated side issue with getting the FAST XFI to fire the 16 Moran injectors properly. The injectors tend to get really hot with the fast box after 30sec run time. This seems to cause the injectors to stick. I did a bench test with running the injectors using the XFI first and then the BS3 and the big stuff actually cooled the injectors off. This was NOT an issue running 8 injectors and when only 8 injectors are tested they do not heat up. It seems to only be an issue when using 8 Moran 500lb injectors in combination with 8 Moran 235lb injectors. I would assume the same incident would occur with the Precision 500lb injectors considering the BS3 has to make special changes to their driver unit for them but I do not know for certain since I did not test them.
As soon as I get a few more details sorted out I will post up the next plan and report what else I can break! LOL!!
Thanks!

I hear ya Phil! I knew it was not going to last long but hell! I was hoping to get a couple races anyways, when your doing things never done before this stuff is bound to happen. Unfortunately for me my budget was supposed to be for a racepak and some new electronics this winter but... I should not be down long!

nice ride.. but i may ask, whats the deal with that truck on the back...??? what the set-up and plans?[/QUOTE]
Thank you. The truck is an all motor 14.5:1 kinsler injected 6.0 with C5R heads backed up with a Chance 2pc converter and a Rossler th400. Basically built with a bunch of left over stuff from prior builds. It is run by a FAST XFI. Should be a fun truck to play around; it is not built for any specific class racing in mind.
