Interesting. Maybe they can clairify. He asked if it was just for appearance or weight. I told him weight. He told me it would cost a little less then what i believe Joe Van O is asking. We also talked a little bit about the Joe Van O hoods and wings. This was like 3 weeks ago.

I was told after paint it will be about 16 to 17, so it sounds like it's probably about 6 to 8... but even that isn't enough to make it worth over double the price to me.
My goal's 2950 with a 250 lb driver, iron block nitrous setup. Should be able to get it to about 2850 to 2900... so I'll have to put some ballast back in. I don't see it being a problem, even with the extra hood weight.
That nose you have is nice, if VFN made that I might opt for that, but the only one they make is for an extended wheelbase, so I'm leaving a factory ws6 bumper cover on.
As it is, with all the cutting that's planned along with the other stuff I've already done, I should have no problems with my goals. I don't think that hood is gonna hurt what you want to accomplish at all.
Are you going to dogbox out the windshield at all under where the hood meets up with it? If not, wait until you see what I'm doing Whole motor and tranny out the top as 1 piece

I gave up on his stuff before I even got started, that's why I just grabbed a formula hatch, they're less drag then the transam piece and about 15 lbs lighter.
You guys need the wing though, at 180 to 220 mph the aero-qualities of these cars is going to start becoming a concern, much like a prostock or promod is. You actually NEED downforce where you guys are.
Slow guys like me, we don't need to worry about that.

Getting the Anti-Roll Bar and the Wish Bone finalized.
And as can always be expected, you take 2 steps forward and one step backwards! I bought my bare housing new but used as a Tim McCamis housing. Well to make a long story short, Stenod ordered another housing to make a duplicate of mine for another customer and they noticed the housing was shorter than mine by 6in. Sooo they take a better look at mine and notice that there were 3in extensions butt welded on both sides of my housing! They were metal finished perfectly but when you run your finger on the inside of the axle you can feel the joint!
I had to call Lee from BMR who already ordered my axles to see if there would be any chance Strange did not cut my axles yet. I also need to sell my wheels and buy a smaller back space set to make up the difference. On the plus side I will have a cool deep dish now.
