Default Want to get ideas for fuel cell and bulkhead, please show me your race setup

Im going to start building my car up. Id like to mount a fuel cell in the trunk with the battery and build a bulkhead to be NHRA legal. My car will not have the trunk plastic and the 10 pt cage will weld in above the factory fuel tank location. I just read a thread that stated the wolfe bulkhead can be ordered to be used without the rear plastic but I cant seem to find any pics.

If you have some pics of your race setup with a bulkhead weather its custom built or bought and installed with or without a fuel cell please post some pics so I can get an idea.

Also, I understand that when using nitrous you obviously need a blowdown tube. Id like to mount mine on the tunnel between where the rear seat would mount. Is this legal being there if I install a downtube exiting through the floorboard?

Here are some of mine. I made the bottom part, and the top is part of a Wolfe bulkhead that I had. I lined the top edge with a piece of rubber from an extra windshield cowl piece that I had, so the aluminum won't rub the inside of the hatch when it's closed.

I have a Summit 12 gallon fuel cell, fuel pump relay, Summit battery shut-off, relocated battery, wiring for remote charging posts, and Painless Alternator Shutdown within the part closed off by the bulkhead.

That looks awesome, very clean. Id like a vertical fuel cell like that but able to hold a bit more fuel.

Its NHRA approved because its sealed but with a bulkhead its a separate compartment so no need.Im going to build some type of bulkhead with probably a 5-8 gallon fuel cell and a battery probably in an auto parts store plastic battery box.

So the compartment doesn't have to be leak proof, just separated from the drivers compartment, right? Also, this is good for IHRA also?

The bulkhead must be at least .032 aluminum or .024 steel per NHRA rules.

Check the gallery on our site for Matt, Dave, and my car. We all have bulheads and you will see several different fuel cell setups. we can get a 5 gal bolt in plastic, or many different sizes of aluminum. we have the battery mount as well.
