Default How bad is it to lower car??

I couldnt stand the look of my cars rear fender gap so I bought some 1" lowering springs for out back. I already have Strange DAs upfront so I can adjust them however I want.
So what kinda losses am I really looking at? Will it really make a big difference?

My opinion but if you are hooking then it shouldn't matter much unless you are hanging the front wheels way up for too long.

Mike I had my lowered and loved the stance, was cutting very good 60's. Then I went a put it back to stock in the rear only picked up 2 hundreths, but I think it was because of the stiffer rear spring for sure. But its trial and error, not the same day, air, burnout, launch tech. blah blah...but I have heard people say it does nothing and vise versa

Man I would do it. Your car needs that spring length. Did you take out the rear shock seat its sit in?

no reason you cant cut 1.3 60' on a car that is slammed if you set the car up right.

I agree. It's all in the setup. If I could get my car out of 4x4 mode, I would. I'm just stuck with the way my trailer is.

After the S60 went in the car just sits way to high in the rear, even with the hose mod.
see what I mean. I think a 1" drop would be perfect.

My last time out I was cutting consistent 1.56 60's with the stock shocks and 1.25" lowering springs at a heavy 3500# race weight. I can't wait till the day I replace all that with a drag setup but with the rest of the suspension set up properly I don't see it being an issue. Many of the drag cars I see on here appear to be slammed and cut peetty insane short times.

The car should look pretty bad *** with the new springs out back!

Thanks! Seems to me 99% of drag cars are dropped one way or the other to me too!

Being M6 Ive been trailering my car to the track to. Sucked being broke at the track! One time my mainshaft snapped, I had no phone with me, no cash or CC with me and I was 50+ miles form home. Thank God I knew someone there with a trailer and he drove his car home.
Stuff never seems to break on the street. lol

Ya never hook on the street either.

Track that hooks will find a weak link quick if you have any that haven't already been replaced.

As for lowering the car, do it. The lower it is the less likly it is to try to stand up, and as long as you're getting the weight transfer that you need, it will waste less energy putting the nose way up in the air, and move forward more.

I'm lowering the front of my car about 1.5 inches more then the inch I already did, and the back is coming down about 2 inches, to sit down on the slightly larger tire. It will be down in the weeds, to the point that I might have to put larger bumpers on the trailer doors, and then still put a couple boards on the trailer, depending on how the bumpers work, and wether I put a longer extension flap on or not.

It will be real low, and should work really good once I'm done. Certainly won't want to stand up anymore that I'm pretty sure of.

Sounds good to me!! I think it will look 10x better, and not cause to many other issues. If it does Ill just adjust the car to make it work!

stock height here...I don't mind the 4x4 that much...I am afraid if I got down the 60 will slip...maybe after this head cam install I will give it a shot...
