Lexan windshield
Please post up if you have some input!
just wish i knew to paint the backside instead of the front..when you paint it from the back it looks kinda glossy and almost like its a professional tint built into the lexan.. instead of looking like the paint is sitting on it like how mine came out...
i sprayed a matte clear over the paint and it looks better and doesnt chip off, but i flipped it around to see how it looked from the opposite side and i liked it a lot better...
too much of a PITA to remove all the paint and redo it on the other side...
just something to keep in mind if you feel like doing it yourself... paint a small part of the border first, and decide which way you like better before doing the whole thing...lol
If I was building an all out race car, it would go in there and as JL said, especially for the front glass, its a safety issue. running 140-190 mph, you do not need anything busting and be picking glass out of your face...

The speed glass is out of the question right now. I have a set budget to work with and I just can't swing it right now and my factory wind shiled is cracked so i have to replace it now. If I didn't I would just save up and get a Percy's.
I think I found a rear glass to buy, I'm just trying to work out the shipping details. I removed the rear hatch last night and it weighed right around 80lbs! It felt like 180 lbs LOL

Lastly what thickness is the lexan you guys use for side windows and back glass?
My dad used to work in a chassis shop and he said that they cut out and made a few of them for different cars. I thought about it but i can't find a sheet of scratch resistant lexan cheap enough.
A lexan wind shield for an F body weighs 17 lbs I think. Not sure about one for a truck. I'd say it's close to the same.
