SGMP track conditions for The night the lights...
all i can say is wow.... if thats what a "good" track is prepped like then i race on wet grass......
no joke i went out on the track friday morning to see what it felt like... ******* lost a shoe and fell down.... yes that was me if any one saw it... we are used to racing in local **** holes, that hook like the return road there at SGMP...
now i understand how people are pulling 1.20's and faster on these 275 tires... been to several large events but never been out on the track..
so the track had rediculously maintenance and hook'd like a sumbitch...
you could go around the pits and see guys beating their shock towers back down or see that their caster/camber plates had snapped....
good weekend!

That's what a good track is like yes. I've raced on one a few times, been to a couple rentals where the track was prepped really REALLY good, and that's what you get.
But for a small tire race, you need to do that.
The guys you saw that were standing cars up and whatnot, probably are guys that race at places like your home track... probably the first time they've had the car on a real track. I know my local track, sunday race day is SO much better then a saturday test and tune, that the first time I went on a sunday (to make my lic runs because I knew there would be plenty of guys to sign off on it) I put my car on the bumper first run on the jug.
Wasn't what I was expecting, that was for sure LOL. I thought the track felt really sticky when I walked on it that morning, and it was

it would be nice if they put up a warning sign *Warning this track will rip your bumper off and **** your oil pan*
i was there with my dads bracket car (almost snuffed out every time it launched it pulled the motor down so hard) and a friends x275 car (he has a stick in it and couldn't even come close to getting a decent clutch and nitrous tuneup in it...)
learning experience for sure....
we plan on being at huntsville this june with my car as long as its togther...

Sounds like teh bracket car needed a little tuning First thing I do now when I go to a track that's really sticky like that, is add 1 lb of air pressure from what I normally run, and tighten the front shocks one setting. That usually, seems to work.
When I go somewhere that has absolutely no prep, I take a 1/2 lb of air out, and loosen the rears one setting, then if that's not enough I loosen up the front one setting.

The Wood family, Tim Fleming and Wade Rich do a great job with that track. Wade is the man on prep as far as I know, but I've been to SGMP a bunch and never spun a tire.
