Nah, this is all just a little above stock. Nothing serious here...

I almost forgot (OK I did forget) to add the pics of the turbo kit back from coating! We only kept one pipe untouched, so this is pretty much the entire turbo kit. Again we have to give a big shout out to Q.C. Coatings in Utica MI. Bill is the man, and as always has gotten us exactly what we wanted in amazing time! If you need anything coated (ceramic or powder) be sure to give them a shot, they will not disappoint! I will get some better pics soon showing off how great everything looks, but for now here are some cell phone shots.

OK, NOW we are fully up to speed! I should have another update in a couple of weeks, and hopefully that has some shots of the motor going together as well.

The car is still around, and just waiting. We are still waiting on the block from Dart. We thought we were in the first batch since it was ordered before it was even released, but apparently not. They are machining the second batch now, and should be shipping them out soon. We SHOULD be one of the first blocks from the second batch. Other than that we do have a little fab work to do still on a bumper/hood support. Chris still needs to decide on, and order injectors as well but we can easily get both of those things accomplished while the motor is going together. Other than that everything else is ready to go, its just collecting dust. I haven't even seen the car in months

I think right now we are hoping that the block is machined and shipped in ~2 weeks (just a guess), and the motor can be together by the end of July or early August. Then we can get it all put back together, tuned, and track ready in another weekend or two. So probably mid to late August before we hit the track.

Well, it took more than two weeks but the block has FINALLY arrived! I wont babble, just move on to pics

That is all for now. It came in this afternoon so all we got accomplished was setting it on the stand and staring at it. They will be taking measurements and starting on machining soon. I am going to try and get as many shots of the process as possible, and will keep the thread up to date. Now that the block is here things should start moving pretty quick!

Well since the other thread got bumped back up, may as well have a small update! The motor is coming along nicely. The block is fully machined, and ready for assembly. The last of the components came in recently...

The Callies Dragon Slayer crank

Callies Ultra H beam rods

And lastly the PRC heads

There is a little work to be done to the heads still, then it can finally all get assembled. The next project will be moving the car and all the tools to Chris's house though. That should be a fun filled weekend of work...

Thats not a sbc block.

"The New Dart LS Next Engine Blocks are designed to eliminate the high RPM power loss and the problem of separate bays in the crankcase associated with the ''Y-Block'' design of the LS engine series. This has been accomplished by using the conventional style small and big block Chevy 4-bolt steel main caps with 7/16" bolts, full main webbing and crank barrel around a standard LS rotating assembly for maximum bottom end strength!"

Just a quick update, we picked up the motor from Legend Racing over the weekend. Here are a couple quick shots of that.

Next weekend we will probably mock the turbo kit up on the motor on the stand just because. We are also supposed to be picking the car up next Saturday, so I should have some pics of that up as well. That is all for now. Once we get the car back though the updates should be pretty steady.

Valve covers are GMPP that we modified, and added the bungs for breathers, then powdered then black. We tried others, but i went with these to try to keep them from leaking... Center bolt valve covers hate me!

Thanks, Chris

I don't even remember any more. I think ebay that we powder coated and installed the -10 bulkhead fittings in. They are taller than stock, and also the heads have a 3/8" lip to raise them as well.

Do you have a part number? Or more info on them? I have been running the sce and was looking into a different option. I tried to call them last year and the lady I spoke with didn't have a clue about lsx gaskets and said she would get back with but never did. Thanks

I would do unspeakable things for that motor.

Love this build.
