Default how to keep poer windows with aluminum/ carbon fiber door panels

I was wondering what people have been doing to keep power windows without the stock door panels. I have been running with no door panels, but plan on running aluminum or carbon door panels. I want to keep power windows and want to know how you relocated them or if you were able to re-mount them in the new door panels.

I would re-wire them and mount them in the center console like a 3rd gen. You save weight too, since you'd be eliminating some wiring.

I have my DMH door panels now here, and will be doing a write up in teh next week or 2 once I get done installing them. You will have to rewire the switches, not a huge deal. I'm gonna figure out where 12 volts has to be applied, and get that portion of it done as well for the write up.

I can tell you this, the DMH panels, are LIGHT, like a lb a piece LOL. It's probably a good 20 lbs off the car

Easy. Get a wiring diagram for the power windows. It's easier to walk you through it in person. How exactly are you wanting to do it? For example, I eliminated the passenger side altogether and moved the driver side to the center console cup holder.

read thru this thread...

https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-raci...g-project.html

supposedly one needs to retain the power window control module to make them work...but I was able to make the windows work with 12V direct (wires connected to battery in one way and the window went up, reverse the polarity and the window went down)

I posted a schematic in that thread stating what should work...

You do not need to keep the BCM to get the windows to work, I'm 100% on this.

wasn't referring to the BCM...referring to the power window module...its a separate box...

Good info guys. I kept the power window control module and rewired mine to an older set of GM window switches. I'm sure there are a bunch of ways to accomplish this though
