Default Race brakes?

Looking at adding brakes. Does anyone have a weight breakdown, weight savings on the available 4th gen brakes? aerospace heavy duty fronts, aerospace hub style, strange fronts, and the 3rd gen brakes with the alum. spindles. Lookin to see if the extra cash for the high end ones is worth the weight savings. Pounds per $$. Thanks, Phil.

Stock LS spindle weighs 11.2lbs each...so 22.4 lbs for the pair...tube spindles will go 10-15lbs for a pair if it's drag race only....could save 12 to 7lbs total depending on brand.

Strange 4th gen front brakes that bolt to the LS spindle will save 36lbs for the pair.

If you have most everything else done or just really want drag brakes then go for it. I have seen a few threads and most everyone agrees brakes alone will gain you almost nothing in the 1/4 and are rather expensive. Again when you add the weight saving along with other things it adds up but ,alone, brakes are a big chunk of money with very very little return.

A big chunk of the weight savings is rotational weight. I'm pretty sure drag brakes are worth more than a tenth.

No they aren't worth more then a tenth. At least no one who has them has been able to show they are. They are could and I am not saying don't get them, but don't expect any value as far as e.t. for your dollar. They, along with other mods might add up. But they alone are a small, yet costly, piece of the puzzle.

I mean, just throwin it out there, I would think that having a nice (aka $$$) brake setup at all four corners would def help with slowing down in a quick and smooth manor at high speeds would mean something as well in this situation seeing you are talking about price vs. worthiness here.

...Plus it looks sweet!

you think drag brakes with a 2" contact patch up front is going to be a braking improvement over stock pieces
