Max RWHP for 27x10.5 Hoosier QTP
Obviously, there are a ton of varibles with a question like this. Let's say 3500#s, M6 with all complimenting aftermarket suspension components for good weight transfer. What do you think the max 27x10.5 Hoosier's are good for (rwhp)?

No really HP barrier, more like whether the suspension is tuned for the setup. with a M6 car you need a LOT of stuff to make it "work"
More side wall (i.e. taller tire like a 28) would be ideal.
That tire should be fine as is.
Unfortunately when it comes to Racing, things like tires, torque converters, gearing, and practice are one of the MOST expensive things about building the car as your going to burn a lot of cash and time, buying, installing, tuning, and racing to find out what works best for the car. Any real racer would agree on this point.
At best you can ball park part choices, and settings but you still gotta get out there and see what works and what does not.
It is not UN heard of serious shops going out on a Rental Day with 3-5 different tire and converter set ups and would do swaps at the track to see what works best.

Yea, I understand more sidewall the better, Just not sure I want to put 28s on.
Sure would be nice to hook up with a shop that would go to the track with you to help dial in your car. Probably big $$ though.
No question gearing affects how hard the tires hit. 4:56s will hit harder than 4:10s etc... Good info, keep it coming.

Actually, it's both. Not sure if you understood my question. Just courious what the max hp these tires will hold coming off the line (60 feet) with out going up in smoke? Seems as though there's not a lot of people running the 27s, most are running 28s or larger with big power levels. I'm planning 550-600 rwhp with 4:10s for now.

If the car is set up right you should have no prob hooking them, But with that gear and power I would go to a 28. Actually I ran 27x10.5 QTPs in my car with 4.10s and a 410rwhp, added a kit and will have 550-600+ rwhp now Im on 28s to make sure I dont need to shift into 5th on spray.
